Freshly lifted from Warseer:

As for the gun, it sounds like the 'cyclic ion blaster,' which will be one of the special-issue weapons available to high-rank Tau crisis pilots. It will be strength 3, assault 5, with to-hit rolls of 6 counting as AP1 but still needing to wound -- much like the rule for Eldar Rangers with regard to their longrifles.

Now this, I like!  :blues:

I actually like the looks of it.  Not very stealthy looking, but way cool.

===

On a related note, one of the local 40K Tau players has a unique color scheme for his stealth suits.  He primed them white then drybrushed them with a light aqua/green color.  That left all the recessed lines in white.  It has an effect kind of like the "invisible" stuff on the old cartoons that were  outlined in white - Spaceghost, Wonder Woman's invisible jet on Superfriends, etc..

I thought it was very inventive.

NH,

Agreed, not too stealthy looking, but the models are kinda :cool: looking.

Paint Scheme: That would be interesting to see. I wonder how one of the golden daemon slayer sword winning types would go about 'invisibility' painting...

I'll challenge Boltman with this later, see what he can come up with.  It'll probably be some kind of super-chrome finish (S/E NMM) 'reflecting' the environment around it.

I still like the smaller XV15 Stealth suits better.  I wonder if they're getting an update to bring more guns to the party.  A plasma rifle or fusion blaster on a stealth suit would just be gross.

We've already seen them with th fusion blaster - at least on the lead figure, don't know if that was prototypes or character only, or - something else.

Paint: it would definitely have to be some kind of SE/NMM - I agree, but instead of NMM in the typical chrome/golds - I'm thinking it would have be a study of whites and blues?

Hmm... don't know - that's a tough one.

I could imagine a shadowbox scene where you are forced to look at the model from one direction - where you could see 'through' the model i.e. in paint to the scene in the bacground, but now you have a distorted image looking 'through' the stealth... very predator movie-ish... In this mode, I bet you'd have to use the full gambit of colors in the scene to pull off and reflective studies would have to be pretty close to dead on - heh, that would look cool. Would have absolutely zero play value use on the table, but ought to be one hell of a challenge for the Master Painters group!

Heh... blah... :)

I'll suggest it to Chris Blair next week (he only lives a half-hour walk away from me, and he's a many-time Golden Demon/Slayer Sword winner...)
