Nasty nasty fight when all the Big Boyz come out to play! ?*laugh* ?Thanks for the report Hena!

Here I got soundly trashed. The loss of warhound pack on turn 1 was a worst start.

My opponents have learned the hard way. "They may look far away, but those Orks can *move*, NEVER left them go first!" *laugh*

3. 25cm moving Krawla is nasty. We weren't sure if that was too good. Probably.

The base speed of the Krawla is 20cm, did your opponent take the +5cm move upgrade with his Big Mek?

4. AMTL vs OGBM known before hand leads to escalation of TK weapons. Probably would be better to test with an environment where opponent is not known beforehand.
I think this is why you're seeing the power of the Deth Kannon so much, in "open tournament" play, I've never even brought one to the field, let alone three!

6. Fire discipline is needed. I should have moved the Revenge to fire on the Great Gargant on turn 1 and then been able to sustain with it on turn 2.
One of the secrets of OGBM is *breaking* the Gargants, especially the smaller ones, instead of trying to destroy them.

Very interesting battle. Now I seriously need to figure out where to get Knights as well as probably buy some russes :p.
Good luck on your "Knight Quest" and thanks again for the batrep!

How the heck were you doing those "right over the table" shots, anyway?

I too think that the Deth Kannon is too powerful. Or at lest, too good ranged. I think it it common flaw in "appendix (or experimental) armies" that there are things that are "just like ****, only better".

"Deth Kannon is just like Vulcano Cannon, only better range"

It was a great game and a great report.

S right. Isn't it rather obvious to take for this thing really?

Actually, with it already moving 20cm, I usually swap out the two Mega-Choppas for a Mega Kannon, on a double it can hammer almost anywhere on the board with 4BP MW attacks. ?I suppose leaning towards the Bad Moonz style of warfare, I like bigger gunz! ?*laugh*

That "table" was on my living room floor .

Well, that solves *that* mystery! ?Well done! ?*laugh*

Thanks for the report.

I'm thinking that the Death Kannon just needs to go away.  I don't think that it's so much that it's over powered (you're paying an extra 50 points for what is essentially a longer ranged Zzap gun, which should be about right) but that it's just not sufficiently different in flavor to mess with.

I'm also doubtful about the MegaKannon.  It basically allows you to "double up" a Mekboy upgrade.  Getting 2 substitutions for the price of one allows you to completely change the character of a gargant/krawla or increase the range on 2 weapon systems.

In any case, the kustom weapons need to be revisited.  I'll try to post some stat ideas soon.
