I haven't voted on this yet as I see any change proposed above bringing the Laser Burner into conflict with the CCW which with the TK (D3) is a superior weapon.

The EUK list has made a change in the view of the weapon to Small Arms and no benefit to Close Combat, thus keeping a distinction. However I do understand the want to keep it closer to the original weapon style and would lean towards "no change" at the moment, even though it is a must add weapon to an advancing Reaver.

Why the heck does the poll not include the Epic-UK version of the Laser Burner stats? (which it was proposed you changed to instead) I suggest deleting the current poll and running another with this as an allowed option - it's a viable, popular choice and what many would prefer.

Epic-UK have the Laser Burner being +3 FF MW attacks, zero CC for +25 points. That is very powerful, but limited to FF only, so more limited tactically and less defensive (no good against teleporting Terminators say).

The current Laser Burner is too good and annoying / lazy because it is good in both CC and FF. Against a titan legion with lots of Laser Burner an engagement based army is going to really struggle e.g. Tiny Tim's recent 4-0 win against Dark Eldar using 3 Laser Burners. I played a 3k list with several Laser Burners against Marconz and we were both of the opinion that they are too good as is at the moment. If they stay as is they should cost +25 but splitting them so the TL player has to choose between a good CC weapon or good FF, rather than getting one good at both, is my preference.

One battle report does not necessarily cover all aspects needed to make an opinion.

I'm going to play EUK AMTL this weekend probably against the same army. I'll try and do a report again and it will hopefully show some of the differences/similarities between the two lists.

It's not there because further research showed that the lasburner was primarily a CC weapon not a FF weapon. I think we should try to keep weapons in their traditional roles so more emphasis on the CC side than FF. If the lasburner is too powerful, there are several other option there that reduce the power while keeping it in line with the fluff.

You can also propose your own ideas and if they get enough traction we'll do a run off. Hardly a reason to delete the poll though.
