Post subject:  Viable Skitarii List?

I'm looking to build a Skitarii army. I believe I have most of the models, except for the old robots which I can run a single unit of each (or have to sub in others). I was wondering if this seemed like a viable place to start:

3000pt GRYPHONNE IV SKITARRII LEGIONS ARMY LIST

Skitarii Demi-Century - 250
+2 Flak - 100
+Magos - 100
Skitarii Demi-Century - 250
+5 Chimedons - 125
+2 Flak - 100
Ordinatus Majoris - 400
Ordinatus Majoris - 400
Praetorian Servitor Maniple - 250
+Ordinatus Minoris - 125
Crusader Scout Maniple - 150
Colossus Assault Maniple - 250
Collegia Titanica Support: Warhound Titan Pack - 500

Also, which of the Majoris and Minoris should I be looking at taking? Macharius? Thanks for any advice!

um, have you set aside any points for ordinati weapons?

You've got a lot of stuff in there but you've got a few problems like maddoctor pointed out.

1. Your second Demi-Century can't take just 5 chimedons. Unlike Chimeras, each Chimedon only has a single transport slot so you need one for each of the 10 units in the demi-century.

2. You have lots of Ordinatus but no weapons selected. Your majoris weapons run between 100-150 points so you need to plan accordingly. I'm guessing the Praetorian Servitors are getting a Corvus Assault Pod on theirs? If not you need between 25-75 points for that one. All in all you need to have between 225 and 375 points free to arm your Ordinatus.

I'd look at dropping your attached flak and chimedons on the demi-centuries. That would free up 375 points. For the Majoris take the Armageddon and Golgotha. If you aren't concerned about movement for the praetorians, use the last 25 points on a Gatling Blaster or Plasma Cannon.

Don't worry about the macharius for now. That entry is going to be replaced once we get the Cataphractii list up and going. You'll have a few alternatives then.

Thanks for the feedback! I totally misread that you pay the additional cost for the weapons. Didn't realize Chimedons were 1 per either (that's what I get for making list on my phone). Guess I'm subbing some Chimerro models in if I want to take the 10 transports.

If I drop the Chimedons and Flak as you said I have 375. Upgrading to a Golgotha and Armageddon leaves me with 75 points and an Ordinatus Minoris (125). What would be the best thing to spend these 200 points on? Keep the minoris or take another unit entirely, or perhaps a Reaver?

BTW Vaaish, seeing your painted AdMech is why I'm interested in painting my own. Great stuff.

Some might argue, but I get a lot of utility out of the minorus with the Corvus Assault Pod. It can carry the praetorian detachment. It also provides AA and mobile cover. It's a big target but it'll usually get you where you need to go before going down.

The benefit there is the corvus is free, so no added cost to the praetorians.

Cool, I think I'll go that route. Leaves 75 points to spend on... plasma blast guns I guess. Nothing costs 25-75 points!

You could upgrade your majoris to the Golgotha, that's 50 points and give you a nice arty unit.

Yeah, I think I've got the math worked out to within 25 of 3k simply doing what you suggested. Plenty of variety and robotic marauding. Should make for a good starting point! Much thanks for the help.
