http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/M ... OHORT.html http://1.2.3.13/bmi/www.forgeworld.co.u ... l-p1v2.jpg sort of cyborg, space marine esque constructs on a 'robust human'. Specifically created by the Ordo Reductor. |

Kind'a cool ... so do these Cyborgs work with the Skatarii or ? The NL also showed the "New" SM Recon Squads ... which is sometimes are also known as Scouts in the Real World ... So in the fluff, they now have both "Scouts" which are SMs in training and Recon which is like Spec Ops ? Or just another way to sell models ... I guess with all the news in the media about SEALs, Spec Ops etc., GW decided to jump on the band wagon. Of course the original GW Scouts were teens with "poofy" Vatican Guard sleeves. ![]() |

I think the recon squads are more a GC/Heresy Era thing while the scouts (Swiss Guard, poofy sleeves and all:) ) I do have to admit their new models are great looking although far too expensive for me at the moment. |

Is it ironic that FW has been in business for over 10 years and they're just now doing some Mechanicus units? |

Yes, I guess Recon is Horus Heresy era unit ... but they should be around in the current timeline as well. Of course the USMC has Scout/Snipers and Marine Recon units ... FW has just released Breach Marine Troops too, in this NL. Which definitely looks like an H/H era unit .. |

Well considering the constant retconning GW loves to do it wouldn't surprise me. "What? these things over here? Yeah they've been around always since the GC. Buy 4 of these NOW!!!" Smacks of "we've always been at war with eurasia" type nuspeak ![]() |

Dave wrote: Is it ironic that FW has been in business for over 10 years and they're just now doing some Mechanicus units? Yes ![]() Have you given any more thought into incorporating ome of the new Ad-Mech troops/ideas into the epic list Vaaish? Have you got access to the Horus Heresy book to see the rules and background? The Thalaax are jump-pack cyborg infantry that telport into battle and have anti-tank guns with ignore cover. Perhaps teleport could be used in the epic AM list? There have been other mention of teleporting Ad-Mech troop into battle and it seems like the sort of high-tech thing that would be down their street. Also, the HH book confirms the AM have their own dedicated aircraft (not allied ones) using imperial pattern, though IMO AM aircraft was blatantly obviously already considering their need to defend AM Forge Worlds and that there are AM aircraft in their battlefleets in BFG. Could we please scrap the recent removal of aircraft from the Skitiarii list now? |

I haven't seen the HH book, TBH, the FW books are just too pricey for me and I've never managed to pic them up. I'll shoot you a PM and we can talk more. |

If you hadn't I was going to PM you, will do so in a sec. It would help for you to read the relevant bits as research/info for the shepherding the list. The FW Imperial Armour books are really excellent, the best 40k ever done (jointly up there with the original Realm of Chaos books) and are inspiring and interested. They have extensive background and you should really read the first one, on the Imperial Guard as that has a lot of relevent details on Forge Worlds and Admech too. |

I may be the only person who doesn't find the Imperial Armour books to be excellent. They'd be great for forty bucks, and might be OK at sixty. For a hundred plus, they're godawful things in need of a good editing. |
