Does anyone make suitable proxies for Rapiers, Tarantualas, Thudd Guns and Robots?

EW Guild support Centuria for the first three and Khazari War Droids for the second would be my suggestions.

Plastic robots show up on eBay with fair regularity. Rapiers can probably be converted from the salamander and tarantulas can probably be converted from the fw line if you have them.

I'm looking for something to suggest to people that is a currently available model.

The ew line as mentioned would work. Kevs stuff that Steve picked up for also has several models that would work in the robots role. The aquatic water mammels covered scout crawler would make an alright rapier and there might be other suitable proxies from the same source.

Likewise the Ral Patha Battletech battle suits.

Dream Pod 9's Heavy Gear Fleet Scale line has some stuff that might suit. The Hunters are angular, the Jaegers more smooth and ovoid.

Those look nice but they are quite expensive.

Sadly the rest of the GZG walkers have no photos. I'll email Jon and see if I can get some. Price sure is right for 6 figures.

Yeah. It's about 2 bucks per little tiny Gear. They're nice models, mind you. But that is a bit...much.

Of course, compare GW Dreadnoughts and they start to look downright cheap ($2 per vs 6$ per). :P

I can take some measurements, if you like.

Could you take some photos next to some Epic figs?

Are there different heavy gear models than I remember? The only ones I've seen are a little smaller than battle tech mechs which still puts them more at the size of knight titans.

Yup. They also have a smaller scale Epic equivalent called Fleet Scale. Landships and tiny Gears (and tiny tanks and airplanes, too). Neat system. And at some point I should really finish my rewrite of the rules for it.

One picture below. Landship in the background, Hunters on the left, Jagers on the right, demi-squad in front.

Hmm. they look very tau like, but a bit of conversion could make some more imperial style robots.

For Rapiers, these seem to fit pretty nicely. I'd forgotten about them until Jimmy posted his macharius.

Now I know what to do with those!

Great idea
