Hey Everyone,

To start out, I'd like to get a bit more of an idea as to what everyone is using. If you could all post the lists you've taken regularly when using the Skitarii list I'd appreciate it!

EDIT: Just to keep things on the same page, can you preface your list with the version it was used under, please?

I was somewhat put out when the light carrier AFVs disappeared, but I think the Chimedon is a good fit for the army. I'm more or less reconciled to fitting turrets on my painted Rhinos to make counts-as chimedons.

I'd like to see some of the other infantry types (Praetorians, Mortars, etc) return as possible Skitarii upgrades. It helps getting full use of of ones collection - eg, if I could add 2 or 3 mortars to a Skitarii Demi-Century, then I could fit any number of Mortars into my army, by mixing support formations and upgrades. This is merely a practical point - it is nice to be able to use all ones models - it has nothing to do with Mechanicus background. Though I do think I recall stories where the Praetorians fought together with the Skitarii, not just in their own formation.

I'm no help then. I didn't like many of the changes that were made, so I stopped playing at about v3.16.

It seems that a lot of people dropped the list sometime in here based on the info I'm seeing. If you could go ahead and post what you were using, it'll still help, just note what revision was being used. I'm mainly trying to get info on what people take so I can get an idea of what to work on.

The only list I have is ancient. v1.11. Never got or made models, and so it never went anywhere.

Long story short, Ordinatii with infantry support, and some tanks. Anything else is gravy. I like the idea of fleshing out the Legio Cybernetica.

I hate the God Machine rule, but that has no bearing on playing Skitarii. Mainly, I didn't like the change from Chimeras and Hydras to Rhinos and Hunters. I also don't like Lemans being limited to one type only.

Chimeras aren't back but Chimedons are and Chimeras work just fine as models for them. Hydras are back too, but I'm planning in removing the support detachment. The flak upgrade will still be there for those who have hydras.

The most of the leman russes won't be coming back though. Too similar of play style to guard with them and redundant with the Macharius role. There is a small possibility for the return of the Vanquisher since it was manufactured on Grypphone IV.

I still don't understand your hatred for the God Machines rule, did you play any games with it?

I didn't know they had been added back until I looked at the most recent version. When Chimeras and Hydras were removed, I completely stopped playing Skitarii and hadn't bothered looking at subsequent updates.

Yes, I've played with the rule. I don't like it and don't see a need for it. I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree about this rule.
