Changes for v2.01:
Added AA shots to Ordinati
Moved Rapiers and Mole Mortars from Upgrades to Support
Dropped Ark Mechanicus to 100pts
CC Ordinati go to CC3+
Transport Ordinati go to 25cm and 30cm speed

The Chimedon seems nice; a different flavor than either Marine Rhinos or IG Chimeras, and (in my opinion) one that fits the army well.

Also the Praetorians, I see. is that intentional? I always liked the upgraded Skitarii formations, especially with Combat Servitors, they seemed in keeping with the fluff as I've read it.

Maybe it'll get some airtime, then :)

Minor nit: it has 2x pin-point attacks in the reference sheet, but only one in the text. Which is correct?

I'm still unconvinced anyone will want to field units with 10cm move that wants to get into B2B contact to be effective... Why not just say that the CC weapons are really for Titans, and the Ordinati are gun platforms?

Um, that's very fast... It feels a bit off that something that size, on multiple treads, would move like an APC.

One.
Now it's two. :)

Not confusing enough to not make perfect sense of it, apparently. :-P

I'm also not too fond of the corvus granting a 20cm speed boost. It seems rather extreme and makes for a very fast Skittarii list

We're talking about transports that cost 175 or 400(!)pts here. They really can't stay as 10/15cm speed units.

as well as bringing up the question of why the titans wouldn't get the boost as well.

The Titans get the price drop on Infantry to go in the Corvus Pod instead.

Quote:
I would prefer that the corvus not grant additional speed and instead give the minorus a natural 20cm speed. That would make it faster than infantry which would benefit them if the pod was taken to transport them and keep the rules from being split up.

That'd make it an amazing and manueverable gun platform, yet still an inferior transport for the price. It'd actually make taking the Corvus Pod relatively less attractive IMO.

I'm persistent! but it would really be easier to follow if all the rules for the corvus were in the same spot. I can see the speed change getting overlooked easily. I was actively trying to find it in the rules and it too a bit to track it down.

Then perhaps the same should apply to the skitarii list as well? it seems odd that the same piece of equipment grants such an amazing boot in speed for a minorus yet does "nothing" with a titan.

I'll see about re-arranging it somewhat.

Probably not nessesary.

Think of it as being a "similar" piece of equipment.

And in game terms. A slow Corvus Pod Ordinatus is a complete waste of points almost incapable of doing anything, whilst a Titan carrying a Corvus Pod still has a significant level of Firepower etc. (A Titan doesn't lose quite as much by taking a Corvus Pod as an Ordinatus does, so it doesn't need as big a boost in-game).

It seems fine to me. They presumably design it to be fast for it's purpose and it looses all the weight from a primary weapon plus it's ammo and generators. A Basilisk and Chimera are based on the same chassis, but the troop carrier is faster without the weight of that gun.

I'd prefer Titans to have no speed boost from taking a Corvus. Though perhaps a battle titan taking no weapon at all for one of it's carapace weapon-hardpoints (like used to be possible and done in Adeptus Titanicus) could gain +5cm?

The download link isn't working for me.

EDIT: never mind. I forgot that the Skitarii list was attached to the AMTL list.

I know the Skitarii v2.01 list is part of the AMTL v3.19 list. Will there be much changes to it before it is finalised for the next supplement? Or is the Skitarii list fairly stable now.

I have been reading though this thread and the v2.0 thread to understand more how changes were made and why. I can understand why variously standard Chimeras, Rhinos and Gorgons were dropped as transport options. I like the idea of Chimedon's.

2 questions:
1) Will you be including Chimerax and Chimerro's as well? Or will you just be count as Chimedons?

2) At the risk of mentioning the crassus armoured assaut transport or praetor armoured assault launcher (lower case used for comic effect), will either of these be added to Skitarii list? Or are these effectively included within Ordinatus Minoris unit?

Thanks

James

I wish there were a good way to include Leviathans, Macharii, Baneblades, CRASSI, and Malcadors in a single all-encompassing Superheavy Tank list without duplicating the feel and functionality of the Minervans. I'll have to consider it further.

But yes, use as Minoris (Corvus and AML) would be pretty accurate.

Any list that had that list of Super heavy Tanks as company choice would be my instant first choice list. Even if expensive points wise to ensure play balance.

I have a LOT of Super heavy Tanks and love playing using them in my default IG army.

I would be happy enough using Macharii as "scout" choice!

Cheers

James

I'll look into it. The advent of the Praetorian is a huge boon, allowing a super heavy artillery unit.

Is it done yet? Is it done yet? Is it done yet?

:)

Seriously though would look forward to it.

Thanks
