Latest Version Version 3.09

A big update:

V3.09
Support Missile changed to 75pts
Gatling Blaster returns to being a +25pt weapon
Ordinatus Majoris base cost reduced to 300pts
Reduced Lasburners to +2 attacks instead of +3.
Moved most of the allies into the Support Formations section.
Quake Cannon loses ignore cover.
Quake cannon reduced to 75pts
Vortex missile reduced from TKD3 to TK1
Renamed Fire control centre to CLP
Carapace Landing Pad dropped from +150 to +100pts
Veteran Princeps added.
Fixed CCW stat.
Added Emperor class titans. :p

Rather obviously, there are a pair of new, and rather large gentlemen in the list... who I'd like your opinions on.

I've taken a rather contraversial step with their DC (12) I suspect, but I've my reasons, I hope.  :p

Reasons?  Would that have anything to do with your comment about a certain FW sculptor the other day?

Interesting although I don't know about a 1250 point sink in the game.

Me neither.  I love the idea of Emperor class titans, but their weapons just dont justify the expense.

The warmonger has 4 missiles it will never fire

The Imperators weapons are not focused enough for my liking (though if the helstrom gets BP or direct fire then I might use it).

I do like their low FF and CC values.  I have tried such values with an Emperor class before and it is a nice balance against their ranged abilites.

However I still prefer a plasma lord over them and that is a point sink that I have yet to get to work properly.

I don't expect anyone to take Emperor class titans in anything less than a 4k battle and expect to have a chance of winning... but maybe I'm wrong. :)

2)Seeing as it would be highly unusual to get 8 of the same missile type (especially Vortex!!!!!) Say it carries 2 of each. That way at least people can justify the expense as  they're paying for the choice. Only one is fired per turn. This option would also be really fun.

I like this, consider it adopted in 3.10, unless anyone objects?

I'd never take them - to easy for a Guard army to shoot the shields and then deathstrike it mostly dead - and odds on every 6 points of damage is a critical.

Also a Warlord on average gets 6 2/3 hits in CC. Your bigger titans get 6. With 3+ they would be getting 8 and continue the scaling up.

Surely also Thick Rear armour?

As for which to go for if I had to pick, it would be the AA one, at least I would save on Thunderbolts!

I think I have spotted a mistake. Under your pricing system shouldn't the Warlord now be 725 points? Or the 'book' Warlord comes out at 875?

3+ CC guys?

I forgot to give them 'Transport 8' for the leg bastions as well.

Thick Rear armour?

I took the stats from the rulebook & the 'Giants amongst Giants' rules, neither of which had TRA.

Which brings us back to the reason that the Gatling went to being a Free weapon in the first place, to put a little distance in price between the Reaver and the Warlord. :D

Well, the other route is still open.

Free TLD and Galting, base 650 Reaver, 800 Warlord.

Whats Gaints amoung Giants?

Which would make taking scout class weapons pointless.

I'd rather see someone break the Warlord-heavy list with scout weapons @725pts first. :D

Whats Gaints amoung Giants?

An article on the two Imperial mega-titans written by Greg Bak, published through Fanatic Online a year or two ago.

More speculation and guesswork for the moment.

More news as it comes (Or not). :D

If you allow it to take a Legate (probably should!) it can also have inspiring.....

Yes, I probably should. :D

TRA - The reaver and Warlord have it .....

The reaver does not.

Yes it can blow up on a critical.... but its unlikely and so can any other titan.

If I had the freedom to do so, I'd really love to replace the current titan criticals with something more immediate and less catastrophic (Perhaps a universal critical damage table for use by all imperial titans).

I don't see that as within my remit however.

Should the Warmonger get +2EA on its tertiary weapons? Its not there.

Nope, it doesn't have quite as many secondary weapons as the Imperator.

To be frank they always will be whilst one of the 'tactical' weapons is as cheap as them, even the las burner.

Incidentally las burner wise what was wrong with the +3EA MW? And your stats wise is the CC or FF needed considering WE can always choose to use FF values?

Plus of course it makes the Terminator style small elites attack a bit less likely to take damage!

Chris, have you not noticed they both have AA, one has lots, the other has a 90cm 4+ TK3 AA!!

I was assuming it wouldn't last as its just too much, especially for an air assault army. 4+ chance of the thunderhawk dieing? Too unfair.

Oh and transport wise why not ten?

You can always replace the critical for the Emperor with something else. Battle Titans have one, scouts another, Emperors could have something else (D3 extra damage? or something similar?).
