Well, first we shall say nothing about those who trick unsuspecting travelers from their corner of london to the opposite one, only to find GW Brent Cross closes at 8. Well, nothing much. Gavin kindly gave me a lift to his (and a lift home) so my AMTL list faced his space marines and produced a resounding draw, with me having the VP edge. My list was distinctly odd and the game odder. I swiftly forgot all the advice about mutual supporting WE and had individual war engines all over the shop. Fortuently the marines were equally spread out and the game turned out to be a series of indivual engagements between formations. The marines lacked mobility due to their list so couldn't really take advantage of my localised weakness. A draw was perhaps unsurprising though we both made mistakes that could have changed the outcome. Oh and the tarantuala got to activate once! An improvement on previous games. Shame it was only to marshall. I shall let Gavin add his own list and comments, my list was:- 875 Warlord Shrine Gatling Blaster FF Weapon Supreme Commander 650 Reaver Quake (3bp Disrupt) Quake Carapace landing pad 650 Reaver VC VC TLD 275 Warhound VMB PBG 150 Hydra 150 Hydra 150 Thunderbolts 50 Tarantuala 50 Tarantuala Other thoughts- I'm pretty havily armed, maybe make the shrine a support weapon? (Though in retrospect having TLD/gatling instead of VC would have been better - oh and actually moving the titans forward as a team!). Yes list could have been better, in my defence I was sorting through boxes and tryig to find suitable stuff, curse my collasping shelves! |
