Well I have finally finished my legio vesta list, all I need to do know is finish making the titans (and get the bits to make a warhawk) and finish writing the two complientry lists for the tech guard (almost finished the unit selection) and ordo reductor (need to find more units to put in).

My plan is to have three seperate lists
titans for titans
tech guard for infantry and tanks
ordo reductor for artillery.

Then you pick your primary list and have to spend 50% on it
your secondary list on which you can spend upto 50% but are not allowed any 0-1 choices
and finally your tertiary list on which you can spend upto 25% but can only choose support formations which don't have restrictions (such as 0-1 or 0-2 per 1000pts).

Treating Titan Missiles as aircraft when they are fired is an interesting idea.

What if Deathstrike missiles were treated in a similar manner?

Volcano Cannon on a Warhound? Hmmm. I'm not so sure about that one... especially in tandem with the Sniper rule.

The points costs look familiar.  :D

What are these weapons: Defender, Flak 240, Sky Fire Missile, Scout Volcano Cannon, Concussion Cannon, Dual Concussion Cannon, Heavy Concussion Cannon? Do they have any fluffy counterpart or are they "made up"?

What stats does Imperator use?

What are those Forge Guards? What are those miniatures that you are using as Forge Guard?

In SM/TL the original Deathstrike missile launcher rules had the missiles flying on the board to their target.  Hence the reason why the old miniatures have cruise missile look-alikes instead of the rocket affair that the current miniature looks like.  You'll not hear me argue on behalf of simplicity often, but I'd keep missiles simple and just like other weapons.  The original Deathstrike missile launcher rules, while interesting, were also a pain in the rump at times.

And it looks like in the picture he is using WH40K Necron Immortals with Ork(?) slugger guns and some bionic chainsword looking things.  I always thought that Necron Immortals would make good knights...

@Nicodemus: They are all made up. Even the Forge Guard. The models seem to be old Necron Immortals.

@ragnarok: Interesting ideas in you armylist. Expecially in inventing new weapon names :)

That I was afraid of. But had to check if there was some almost forgotten piece of fluff that justifies them.

So... This is lot better aproach to pay-per-gun than others I have seen. Great thing is that Warlord with 2 turbolaser, gatling and volcano cost exatly 850 points, as it should. I just dont understand the reason for concussion cannons, I cant say are they good or bad but would like to hear your reasoning for their existance.

I would definedly drop Forge Guard or change them to knights. I am just afraid that with new never-heard weapons and even big "almost scout titan, but bigger than Knight" WE-walker you will not recognize it as "Ye Olde Adeptus Titanicus" but instead it would have big "Fan-made" stamps allover.

EDIT: There are no Small Arms EA weapons apart from Meltacannon, is that intentional?

Hi evetyone.

I've just noticed two typos (damn the daemons of cut and paste).

The war hawk should have 1 void shield and it's volcano cannon should be MW3+ not 2+

E&C you should noticed those point values I stole them off you when you weren't looking.

Nicodemus, all those weapons are made up.

The concussion cannon was made for my new knight unit. ?It is based on the new baneblade cannon, but with an extra kick to it, thus disrupt.

The heavy concussion cannon actually has stats similar to that that Ilushia suggested for the quake cannon. ?I liked them and took them, renaming it the cheavy concussion cannon just incase the idea didn't stick.

The dual concussion cannon was then added so that there was a family of them going from knight to main weapon to massive weapon.

The warhawk scout sniper titan is made up based on some fluff that I think I remember reading that said that the warhound was the only scout titan fielded on armageddon. ?Which to me implies that their are other types of scout tians available and a sniper scout could be a possibility. ?One that has fallen out of use due to battle titans eing able to deal with WEs so well.

The 3 air defence weapons are also totally made up. ?The Flak 240 is based on the model I have for CMLs on my titans .

The defenders are based on a mixture of the CML and the goalkeeper system on some naval ships nowadays.

Finally the sky fire was added to give some variation to air defence (since n one of my three lists will have aircraft in them I need some fun with a flak unbrella).

The stats for the imperator are classified at the moment. ?They will be released when I have finished my conversion.

Finally the knight conversions are:
classic necron immortal (I wanted the ones without loin cloths for normal kights but got send the ones with loin cloths)
Orlock heavy stubber
3mm of spacing plastic rod (can't remember the dia, but it is the one you can just fit a paperclip in)
Pitslave chainsaw.
I'm also going to be adding FW etched brass imperial eagles to their chest where their necron symbol use to be.

Nicodemus, the pay per weapon system is E&Cs, it works so well because he spent a long time tinkering with it.  A while back I asked if I could use it in my own list with the selection reduced to task orientated selections.

The FG are DC2 because they are too bloody big to be anyting else, and I believe that there was murmmering that knights should go to DC2 due to their size.

This is very much a fan made list.  I don't have the time to even try to be army magos but I will throw out my ideas, either singularly, or entire army lists, to help bring about change to the list.  (for example on titan mounted AA gun has an AP or AT attack since I can't see them haveing the ability to depress the barrel that far)

I don't mind if none of these ideas are taken up, equally I would love it if any were.

And Yes it is intentional that there are no small arms weapons in the list.  I hvae removes a few weapons that are not in keeping with the legions style and build capability (the uncut list has a restriction on the number of volcanoe cannons that can be taken).

I wasn't going to include any oneshot missiles either, until wednesday knight I cut up some old turret thingy and mounted a pair of BFG system defence ships on it and made a missile turret.  They still might get moved to the ordo reductor list.

Rok:
love the aircraft-missile idea; the ack-ack are great; and the old-school Immortals look the part - the Forge guard sound like a grand idea. In my take I'd - well, no, FIRST I'll model it, then tell you about it    :p
Anyway - looks good :)

LATER (but not much later):
Any particular colour scheme planned for the Legio Vesta?

Hope you don't mind if I model my own very liberal versions of the ForgeGuard and the Warhawk.
Looks like I have an Epic project for post PhD days (which are drawing near).

So... Basically this list is made so you could use your converted models.

No, I'd say his modelling inspired ideas for this army list version and the rules included. And that in turn has inspired me to plan some weird conversions... all to the  good (but not the greater good, that would be too Tau).  :)

Indeed.  V you are correct.  I build the models then worry about the rules or what th can count as.

As for a colour scheme.  They are going to be metallic bodies, with purple shin guards and a camo carapace (to better hide from lance strikes.)

These are the 5 I have painted so far.

So V any hints on what your chaos funded forge world will be doing or is it all hush hush?

Well, I would rather take official fluff (new or old) as inspiration, but nothing wrong in your way either, but it takes things away from 40K/Epic and changes it to something else (better or worse). Sad though that I want consistent background, and this "new weapons and new WE:s" is slippery slope.
