This was the most enjoyable game of the set. That also caused that my notes were most riddled with holes (for example I've no way of knowing exactly how the Void Spinner broke on turn 2, was it failure to activate before warhound or after ... I just don't know). But very enjoyable game. If the 2 Quake + Control Tower is prevented the AMTL list quite nice. Only thing that I really worry is 12 warhound list (3 pairs and 6 independent). That has very cheesy potential really.

1. I think we made a few mistakes. Do you get BM from failed difficult terrain test? In the game Lancer broke because of it. And second was that Nightwings should have fired at the Thunderbolts on turn 2 before they could've shot. Well at least the mistakes were on both sides so it balances things :).

With regards to 1.: No, see:

1.8.1 Dangerous Terrain Test
Roll a D6 when you enter dangerous terrain, or when
you start to move if already in dangerous terrain. On a
roll of 1, the unit is destroyed with no save allowed, but
the formation it is part of does not receive a Blast
marker

Otherwise, the T-Bolts should have been easy meat for the Nightwings, why allow them to go on CAP in mid-turn and attack when the CAP is up?

Especially in Turn 2 an earlier Nightwing ground strike would have been a possibility, plus it looks like there were Firestorms to back them up against Intercepts.

Tsk, tsk... ?:;):

When they're on a Biel-Tan like war path...

I believe they were using the Biel-Tan 1.8 rules, but with Ulthw? painted models...

Great battle, btw!

I had two choices for this battle actually. One would have been marine force with almost all Vindicators (MW4+ test there), but I decided that it would be too boring for the final game and took the AMTL choice instead.

Lol!!  Well I still hope to see that test with nearly all vindicators another time. What was your list going to be like?

Anyway I'm highly impressed that you managed to not just play 3 games but also to take information to do battle reports for them all. Thanks!

@Marconz
My Vindicator massacre list is
9 Vindicator Formations
3 pairs of Thunderbolts
and something that can spend the last 75 points (probably a character to somewhere).

Hahaha, sounds good...   :D

Wouldn't it be made more effective by including a few different formation types though (still mostly vindis but just enough other things to complement them well? Eg a SC formation).

Really nice battle report, and knowing your painting skills I look forward to seeing your knights completed.  As I have always said you can never have enough titans.

I really want to play against those vindicators. :D

Yep, Eldar list was made with 1.8 biel tan (final) list. I really wanted to try them, and dire avengers have good stats to resemble black guardians. :)

That game was really enjoyable.(which I never have felt when playing against ATML/OGBM before) :D
