Could we make the explosion when an Emperor Titan dies a lot worse rather than it just having the same as the much smaller Warlord? It could effect both sides so shouldn't affect the balance much. 10cm or more could be good?
I downloaded and read the new Black Library short story featuring a dieing Imperator and the explosion from it's Plasma Reactor going critical kills every ork within 10km. A fair bit worse than the 4+ within 5cm it has now.

possibly, I'd need to look over things and see where the crit came from first.

Ok, I looked this up today and the collectors section of the rulebook has the explosion has the range for the explosion at 10cm in the collectors section. I'm reticent to change the emperor right now though, partly because they may need more extensive changes and partly because they are quite powerful when alive and, while it might be fluffy, it seems bad form to have a unit that rewards a player for getting a critical by wiping out most of the units close by regardless of how many points it is.

I don't see it as bad form at all myself. It could probably just as likely effect units from either side so it's not particularly biased. It's not like an Emperor Class Titan is going to get taken out in many games in any case (most opponents will be better ignoring and avoiding it than trying to kill it) but when it does it is appropriate for it go down with a bang. It being 10cm in the collectors stats strengthens the case for it being so.
I plan on playtesting the list in a month or two once I put my models together and I'll try out some Emperor builds and post up reports.

Bad form in that it would encourage you to run an emperor with a crit right into the middle of as many enemy formations as you can while distancing your own. Puts the opponent in a position where they either get shot up by the empy if it doesn't die or get nailed with the explosion. It is something that a warlord can do too, but its not nearly as efficient at killing formations.
You are right that the collectors stats do strengthen the case for it, but I don't have anything noting why it changed. That it changed at all to a lesser effect is grounds for caution.

Warlords going crit are harmless to the enemy.

If the Princeps realises his Titan might be about to blow does it not seem reasonable for him to move safely away from friendly troops and perhaps towards nearby enemy? It could have warning klaxons to alert nearby friendly troopers to move away too. The damage from a blow up only hits units 50% of the time and they get full saves. Strategically it would be better most of the time to sustain for extra kills that way rather than moving.
I think the Emperor Titans otherwise seems pretty fair, if rather less tough than they used to be under Titan Legions.
What are your thoughts/experiences with the Corvus Assault Pod and the discounted Skitiarii Demi-Century out of curiosity? I haven't used the list yet but they Skitiarii appear an excellent and potentially slightly undercosted option.

^this^ GlynG is correct, there's ample fluff about heroic last stands made by Titan crews (almost to the point of being cliche), the original collectors list had it, Emperors are rarely taken out in practice so it is a total fringe case and frankly the reason it probably changed was a copy and paste transcription error more than anything else. If there is a balance issue there's probably some need for penalties for loosing one (beyond losing your BTS) where all formations get a BM for it's loss (beyond the GOD MACHINES rule), no LOS needed, after all the mushroom cloud it leaves behind is probably able to be viewed from anywhere on the battlefield and everyone knows what they just saw means. If you need more then perhaps once and Emperor takes 75% damage it cannot take march orders being far more susceptible to locomotion damage considering its size which means you can get the hell out of the way and helps prevent detonation shenanigans.
That being said, Vaaish makes a good point about treading softly here and looking at this holistically with the rest of any changes that need to be be done.

To be honest I've never actually used the corvus pod in a Titan list. When I was playing the Titan list exclusively I didn't have any skitarii to use and the option never really seemed all that interesting. Now I'm mostly playing Skitarii so I still haven't really touched the corvus in a titan list. Boosting the cost of the Titan Legion Skitarii and divorcing them from the required Corvus pod seems the more interesting direction IMO.
The reason here being the how the various AdMech lists interact. Titan lists can have skitarii support (fluffy) but you won't see many skitarii compared to a skitarii list. Skitarii lists can have titan support (fluffy) but not so many titans as a titan list.
Eventually, cataphractii would operate the same way starting with the cataphractii support option in the skitarii list.

Don't change it much IMO - I really like the option and the link between the Corvus and the Skitiarii as now (it makes the Corvus good, it would be completely useless and unused purely as a transport). I just wonder whether 100 points is a bit too cheap and that perhaps it should be 125 for the discounted Skitiarii.

Rather than tweaking the Titan Legions list much I'd suggest you try to test some of the lesser used elements more but basically call the Titan Legion list done/ready and trying to get it approved to go in the next Tournament Pack (can always adjust the AM longer if you want). It's an iconic main list that's been tested a lot in the past and it's disappointing it's not been included already, but this can still be worked towards even if not many people are playtesting these days.
The criteria for consideration seems to be 3 different play groups around the world posting up at least 6 playtest reports each. I'd be happy to commit to getting you at least 6 reports up by the end of the year if at at all possible and if you have 6 reports up of your own games then we only need one other person to do so, if there isn't enough old battle reports in the Battle Report section that could qualify (I haven't counted)..

We've been trying to get folks to test the list, but basically we haven't managed to get the required playtests. There have been a few who've tried but we haven't met the requirements yet. You'll notice that there haven't been any changes outside of formatting to the titan list on over a year due to the attempts to approve the list. I've put most of my effort into the skitarii list in the last year for play testing and development.

I have noticed there's been little changes to the Titan Legion part of the list. I view that as a plus and an encouragement to want to test the list as hopefully it might need little to no changes and could be close to being finished.

Once the family situation settles down (infant six weeks early throws a monkey wrench in things!), I might be able to try for six games... There seem to be two three events in New England a year.
Just need to figure how I want the sentinels painted....
Imperator- primed, missing one ml, on order from eBay Three warlords- one finished, one in detailing stage, one deflashed waiting to be cleaned One reaver finished Five war hounds - three finished, two in assembly and painting Three units of sentinels, waiting for test minis to be finished Four thunderbolts completed Two units of infantry primed Ordinatus on its way from England
