Conversion beakers get weaker at shorter ranges, which would be interesting to stat up. Heavy conversion beamers mounted to vehicles also exist.

I'm not against adding robots but do think if you stat them up sensibly you end up with something that is basically just Praetorians (they are INF or maybe LV, but definitely not AV in size).

What do you think about this for the conversion beamer:
30cm AP6+ /AT6+ AND 45cm AP3+/AT4+ Ignore cover

Using the 40k stats as a basis, I think that's weak enough at 30cm and at range you can either go Railgun or Demolisher cannon. I think demolisher cannon stats give them a good AP bend to keep the weapons separate from other options.

I'd disagree with this. The warhmmer compendium lists them as being very similar to dreadnoughts to the point of components being interchangeable. One of the few differences is that dreads house a pilot. That would point to smaller robots being LV with the larger ones being similar in stats to a dreadnought at AV. It even says that robots with build points of 100-180 are the size of dreadnought suits, which encompasses all of the standard configurations.

Those stats you give make it more powerful at short range not weaker.

Should be an OR, not an AND.

Not my intent. I was aiming for 0-30cm being the weaker 6+/6+ and 30-45cm being the stronger 3+/4+ ignore cover. I can't remember anything that has a min range on it off hand to use as a standard for writing the stat line. I think that making it OR allows people to choose which to use and no one would pick the weaker 30cm option since the 45cm option can shoot 0-45cm with OR there.

Maybe 45cm Range, <30cm AP6+ /AT6+ AND >30cm AP3+/AT4+ Ignore cover

Just write with min ranges it's self evident.

Put a note about how the minimum range works in the unit datafax and that's fine. I prefer Lance rather than Ignore Cover, as their fluff (and old rules) talks about how they're actually more effective against high armour targets, and do very little to unarmoured ones.

I'd go far as to make it a macro weapon at 45-60cm. They're very powerful.

I was basing this off the new rules for them in the Marine codex. The max potential is 10/1 blast which basically makes it a railgun or smaller Demolisher template. I went the demolisher route since I think it will work best in the list overall. I may change it to lance or MW after testing it.

The test rules it had in Tim Huckelbery's Ad Mech list were really cool; against infantry it rolled to hit against the armour value of the target (so it hit termies on a 2+ and couldn't hit things with no armour at all!). Against vehicles it did something similar with armour values; the higher the value the easier to hit and penetrate.

Hence why I like Lance for it.

Str 10 / AP 1 is basically the maximum strength in 40k outside of Apocalypse.

Everything else that is S10 AP1 is MW status in Epic. Heck, 99% of things that are AP1 are MW status in Epic.

Demolisher cannons have always been an oddity.

I'm leery about adding MW right now. I would like to have two per stand with a max of two stands and embedded in an demi-century MW might be a little much.

So add them one per stand - a tech preist with servitor bodyguard or some such.
