This was unexpected, but since both the Skitarii and Titan lists are fairly well established, I don't think they need updating all that often these days. Why not just take a sabbatical from active development of the lists for 6 months and then come back?

I don't feel that taking at least half a year away from lists I've been charged to develop and test is responsible.

I don't want to become one of the Champions who have held on to their shiny titles often for years after ceasing any active development work (I'm sure anyone who's been around the forums for more than a couple of years can name a good half dozen), to the great detriment of the community.

I'm of two minds here. On one hand I think E&C did a great job taking us from the v2 "everything plus the kitchen sink" AMTL list to where we currently are: three vastly more balanced lists. On the other hand, I've had to deal with DS taking Reavers with Laser Blasters...

In any case, thanks for all your work with the AM Ben.

I think my point here being that at some point every list will reach a point where active development ceases and the role changes to custodial. It would seem that at least Titans have reached that point and perhaps stepping away and letting it rest for some months wouldn't be a bad thing. It's been done in the past where a list is locked for a time with no updates so I don't think it would be mismanagement to do the same with AMTL.

I have to agree, I think given that the AMTL list is done, you could take a step back, hand over the reins of the Skitarii list to someone else, and just provide oversight where neccessary.

Exactly the sentiments I've expressed to E&C via PM

And if not, it's crucial that we find someone who isn't going to just make changes to the list to make their mark.

Doing that with the War Gryphonnes would be fine.

Doing that with Skitarii, a list that needs lots of testing, would be selfish.

I would have done that, only my testing of the Legio Destructor list just makes me feel a bit silly in this case.
I'd be actively avoiding testing the main lists under my aegis, and working on a list that few on TC want to see developed.

I'd rather not do that, especially when there are several quite capable people with Skitarii armies that IMO deserve a chance to prove themselves capable of taking a list to Approved status.

I'll still be around to provide my advice and thoughts.

I think you just made your own case for not stepping down...

Stay on as AMTL AC and just find a Sub AC for Skitarii List like you've done with the Knights.

E&C, thanks for all the work you've done on the AMTL and I'm sad to see you hang up da championship belt. :'(
