5) The new Reaver Titan that Forgeworld was showing off at the cons showed a carapace Rocket Launcher and a 3x barrelled arm weapon that was otherwise identical to the 2x barrelled Warhound weapon.

That would be a triple barreled Turbolaser Destructor, as opposed to the twin-barreled ones of the Warhound and Warlords.

I originally thought that also, but then I realized having a "triple barreled Turbolaser Destructor" would be a problem.  Think about it.

Forget whatever literature might be out there regarding this, forget the names that might have been attached to this, clear your mind of all of that.  Realize that by adding another barrel you have increased the number of barrels by 50% and, by default, increased the firepower of the weapon by 50%.  Think of this:

Do you want to have a weapon that has 50% additional firepower on a Reaver over a standard "twin-barreled" Turbo-laser Destructor found on a Warlord?

IF all weapons were the same firepower, or even somewhat close, you have just put 3 weapons worth of firepower on 2 weapon mounts.  If you want to keep everything normal you would either have to remove the carapace mounted Rocket Launcher, degrade the Reaver in some other way, or make the Reaver mounting these weapons more expensive.  For simplicity I would rather not do any of those options, but instead say that the twin-barreled Warhound weapon and the triple-barreled Reaver weapon are different from each other and the twin-barreled Warlord weapon.

And my vote goes to splitting as well. But I would forget the knights altogether, or make them their own list. They are totally OOP with no possibility to get them from anywhere,

Hmm...

I don't want the job because I'd be rotten at it. Whatever happens, I'd like to see the CI and the Hellbore in at least one of the lists ( ) as Pretorians.
As for the knights, well, there are proxies, and there is hmmmmm.
Good luck to whoever gets the job.

Praetorians would definitively be a tech guard thing - I even have a list part done for then centred around infantry inspiring super heavies :)

I guess a three barreled TL would be equivalent to a VC?

Anyways Blaarg is there a link to your idea anywhere (I have been away for a while on pain of pain you understand).

It is a triple barreled turbolaser though. Nothing we can do changes that...

I'd assumed it would get two extra shots.

Nah, every other battle titan would also get two more shots, and then everything would take a range drop.  :glare:

I meant that 6 tl shots would be the equivalent of 1 vc shot.

From reading the 40k Apocalypse book a Lasblaster has the same stats as a twin turbo-lasers, but with one more shot.

A three barrelled turbo-laser is a lasblaster.

I thought a lasblaster was something carried by swooping hawk exarchs?

'Dis is my boom stick!' :)

Tis because of an idea that a weapon that large, if it looks like another that big should be the same, if it looks different should not.

End of the day, so what? Can always say its not the barrels that matter its the reactor, or that inferior tech means more barrels for cooling purposes, or the focusing crystals need to be re-aligned more in this version, or that the third barrel if for show, like a larger exhaust fitted to cars :)
