What if the critical effect was:

Causes an addition BM and the titan staggers D6cm (or maybe 2D6 or even 3D6) in a random direction.
If the critical effect causes the titan to become broken, the titan may not perform withdraw movement as it is not fully under the control of the pilot.

I can add this to the round 2 of voting if you like.

Note that unless the Warhound is part of a pair, this critical hit effect will always break the Warhound.

ALMOST always.

If it fails a Dangerous Terrain Test, and Criticals, it's only received 1BM (from the Critical).

Heh, well, that's true.

Still, RAW, a Warhound failing a DTT is instantly destroyed, of course.

So whilst I might have misspoke, I am also technically correct, the best kind of correct. :D

No, he's technically correct. You're merely practically correct, the province of engineers and people in the private sector.

For shame.

How can he be technically correct?
Anything that fails a DTT, from a humble attack bike to a titanic Warlord battle robot, is destroyed.

It says so right there in the rules. ;D ;)

For some reason I was reading it not as failing the test = instantly destroyed, but as taking damage from a test = destroyed.

I may need a nap. :P

*shrug*

Everyone knows it's just an oversight, of course. :)

War engines follow the same movement rules as any other unit. War engines that fail a dangerous terrain test suffer a hit (see the damage rules below).

Wasn't that a later addition to the rules?
IIRC it wasn't in the first version of the rulebook?

It's in the original Rule Book but most usually miss it.
