However how many balanced playtested officially backed lists are going to get posted on SG website and freely used in tuornaments?... ?I reckon we would be lucky if we could get ONE AMTL list as officially approved.

SG made it clear that they will not "officialize" an army without the bulk of the minis available. ?It took months of hemming and hawing just to get L&D released because of the daemon engines. ?There's no way that will happen for the AMTL list in its current incarnation.

In short, the arguments are exactly the opposite of this. ?Including knights and ordinati are a sure way to absolutely trash any possibility of the list ever being official. ?If you want to entertain any hope at all, they must be removed from the list. ?Even then, chances are slim.

Whether you think it's worth pursuing or whether you think we should give up and go fan-list-only, the practical thing to do is split off knights and ordinati from the AMTL list.

Have to disagree here, the Chaos lists came out despite the fact that only the infantry box was made available thru GW, lots of stuff in the army list arnt technically available thru GW unless you start converting other models or buying thru second hand sources, just like you would need to do to get knights if you didnt have them.

With the difference that most of the BlackLegion stuff cane used from SpaceMarines.
For Knights there is nothing similar available.

Maybe I'm just being harsh here but if everybody decides to strip out the Knights, Ordinatus, and most of the oop weapons then each of you might just as well throw a shovel full of earth on this project as you shuffle on out the door and just play an IG list without the 1/3 titan points restrictions.
I have mostly stoped coming here to contribute because this project is going no where fast at this point. We were actually as far ahead on the old SGs forums with this list as we are today.

Yes it hurts me too. I really like this list but i simpy don't have the time to playtest it. I have only 1 opportunity to play all 2 month and this i dedicate to my more liked armies.

Did someone mention the weapns? The list currently has a lot of weapons, and noone wants them to be removed.

I still think the best way to go is to work on getting new weapons configurations to work with the other Imperial armies.

They almost didn't come out.  Andy was extremely reluctant to make the L&D list official.  You may recall all the bruhaha when he made comments about it being a "fan list" while discussing allowed lists for the Nottingham GT last year.

In the end, they acquiesced primarily because SM and IG minis can be used for almost all the models.  Once you use imperial models, the lists are basically only missing models for the Obliterator and Daemon Engines.

I guess I have to vote for the ones who like the list with knights.
If there is a slim chance SG will get the list WITHOUT knights "approved", I'd rather not have this slim chance and have a list I like with the full options, what gives the flavor to the list for me are the titan weapons and the knights.
Maybe people should use IG if they want to play in tournies? not to be rude and I don't mean that as an offense, just a sugestion.

Since Knights have effectively been removed from the background, a list that includes Knights will never become official.

That's about the long and the short of it.

Knights may have been removed from the games, but not from the background - at least, the Adeptus Mechanicus Houses Krast and Arokon, were definitely present in the Eye of Terror campaign force disposition chart, providing a total of six households. But I expect they would want to re-imagine them to an extent before re-inserting them...

The knights have to stay they are what makes the AMTL unique.

I play with the experimental modular weapon rules for Titans and lots of knights (all from eBay). This has caused some interesting battles within my group and many arguements.

Without the modular rules & knights you just have an IG army with a few extra titans.

Cool, any comments about the modular list?

I'm happy to update it if it's getting play!

Already stated, simplify the modular weapon costs to 25 steps to keep it more simple. There is not much difference between 90 and 100 or 160 and 150. Not in balancing issues

Points systems are pretty abstract to begin with.  Perhaps 25 point minimums in the differences between the weapons?
