Can't see the biovores in the army list - they were support 2 yes?

Hi Hena

Just read the report properly - thanks for posting!

Thoughts?

Well first off I've no experience of Dark Eldar and found it tricky relating to the events of the batrep as I have no idea of what the DE units are! You spent over 700 points on your 2 support swarms so I guess there was some inevitability that you were going to be shooting at some point.

My jury is out on the initiative thing at present - if you made the initiative 2+ with a +1 bonus for marching and engaging would you still want the -2 penalty if mindless?

I'm fighting this weekend so will either use 8.1 or 8.2 if it is out by then.

What I can conclude from this batrep is that taking plenty of dactylis and biovores (with the 1+ init) appears to be a very powerful tactic - the question is ...should it be for this army?

Out of interest, was there any reason why your opponent left you dactylis unmolested for 3 turns? Any artillary worth their salt are going to have a huge impact if left alone.

Just as whirlwinds are, this swarm justifies iteslf as a high priority target so I am suprised they were not targetted by your opponent's aircraft.

Cowardly Dark Elf Navy!!

So all in you spent just shy of 900 points on your ranged shooty swarms (2 support swarms = 740 points plus your mines @ 150 pts).

When you invest almost a third of your points in ranges shootiness you should get some reward I say.

I know this much - my flyers would have braved that AA curtain no matter which army I was using.

People often treat their aircraft too kindly - throw them in there I say!

Great batrep - well written and interesting play.  I was happy to see the DE in there!  For anyone wanting a copy of the latest list follow the link on my signature below.

Tyranids - Do you think the fact that you were facing a heavy skimmer army had anything to do with the lack of tyranid feel?  From reading the batrep it did seem rather shooty, but what alternatives would you have, really?  Just curious.
