Turn 1 No teleports. Strategy Roll: AMTL The Deathwind bounds forward on a double, approaching the hidden xenos, and ducks into some ruins, unable to find any targets. A horrific, flapping target reveals itself as the Harridan advances, pops-up from behind cover, and strips two Void shields from the eager Deathwind, before it drops down out of sight. Hellbringer also darts forward on a double, entering a ruined building for protection, but the supposed "monstrous creatures" still remain elusive. Hierophant 1 marches from building to building, nearing the road and the enemy Titans, but staying in cover. The enemy revealed at last, but not looking as big as promised, spurs Lyanna's Beauty forward on a double and it unleashes four spears of blazing plasma into Hierophant 1? doing 1DC damage? Hierophant 2 hesitates, but the Red Queen encourages her scrawny offspring, and it doubles forward to cover and blows a Void shield off of the Hellbringer. The Maiestas Pondero advances over the hill and unleashes everything on Hierophant 2, but does no damage! With a concrete-shaking roar, the Hydraphant doubles forward, nestling down into cover before blasting the Deathwind, but it does no damage to the partially concealed Warhound. The Thunderbolt Squadron drops from the sky to strafe the Assault Swarm. One aircraft is shot down, but they get a meagre revenge by killing the lone Zoanthrope and a Hormagaunt. Moving with surprising grace for such a huge creature, along with Her gibbering entourage, the Red Queen doubles up beside Her largest offspring and blasts the Deathwind with the force of Her will. This does no damage, but does break the overwhelmed Scout Titan. Punch and Jewelee double forward and rake Assault Swarm 1 (16 dice of attacks!), killing 2 Termagants, 1 Hormagant, and a Tyranid Warrior. Somewhat confused by this vicious beating, Assault 1 fails to do anything but move deeper into the cover of the ruined Cathedral. Huginn and Muninn double over the hill and also lay into Assault 1, but they only take out 2 Termagaunts. Seeing the beast in its sights, the Emperor's Ire performs a road march to close the distance? End of Turn: The Deathwind fails to rally, and hot-foots it to the far right Imperial flank and the Thunderbolts don't make it off their side, leaving the battlefield with 3BMs. Hierophant 1 regenerates 1DC. The Harridan produces 4 Termagants and a single Hormagaunt, while the Red Queen births a Zoanthrope and a Hormagaunt. (As something like a complete moron, I totally forgot to take any pictures during turn 1!) |

Turn 2 No teleports. Strategy Roll: AMTL The Emperor's Ire engages Hierophant 2, losing a single Void Shield, while in a puff of actinic laser light and melta blasts, the massive Tyranid creature is annihilated. ?Bio-Titans? pfffft! ?(This was over so fast we forgot to take a picture! ?*laugh*) Punch and Jewelee sustain fire on the Assault Swarm, hoping to clear the riff-raff, but only kill 2 Raveners and 3 Termagants. The Harridan advances close to Huginn and Muninn, and blasts them and the nearby Reaver, putting Blast markers on both Titan groups, and stripping a Void Shield from the larger Titan. Eager for battle, Hierophant 1 engages Huginn and Muninn. ? ![]() The Bio-titan strikes down Huginn, and drops 2 Void Shields and 2DC from Muninn. ?It howls in triumph? until the support of the Reaver blows it into chunks of alien Swiss cheese! ?Imperials win? though the remaining battered Warhound is broken and falls back. ?(Dangit, I was really hoping to take out both Warhounds before the Reaver could respond? that thing is the real monstrosity!) Hellbringer advances to target the Harridan, and crisps 4 Gargoyles. The Assault Swarm engages the Hellbringer. ?Two Raveners are crushed, but the Warhound suffers 2DC damage and falls back to near the Deathwind. ![]() The Thunderbolt Squadron is still busy making repairs and they stand down. The Red Queen doubles forward, cunningly positioning Her broods around Her, and strips 2 Void Shields from the Reaver. The Hydraphant doubles forward to engage Lyanna's Beauty in a firefight. ?Each war engine suffers a single DC of damage, but the bulk of the Bio-Titan wins the day and the Warhound is pushed back. Maiestas Pondero goes onto overwatch, awaiting the inevitable xenos rush as its weapons recharge? End of Turn: Only the beleaguered survivor of Warhound Pack 1 fails to rally for the Imperials and various lesser creatures are respawned by the Tyranids. |

Turn 3 No teleports. (Both my opponent and I were in perfect positions to "drop the axe" on each other, the Reaver could position itself to only be attacking the Red Queen in a firefight, and the Red Queen could easily reach the Reaver with her brood of nasty war engines? it all depended on who went first?) Strategy Roll: Tyranids!!! The Red Queen scrambles forward to give the Emperor's Ire and big hug. ?The overwatch fire of Maiestas Pondero crisps a Ravener, the Zoanthrope, and does 1 DC damage to the Trygon. ?In a desperate attempt at survival, the Reaver manages to kill 5 Raveners, 1 Hormagaunt, and do 1DC damage to the Queen, but She proceeds to tear the Battle Titan apart, doing more than 6DC damage and one critical, trumpeting Her victory over the metal monster! ("I'm the Queen! ?I'm the Queen! ?It's my birthday! ?It's my birthday!) ![]() Excited as a puppy, the Hydraphant doubles over to the corner where Lyanna's Beauty and the Deathwind are hiding and gives them each a Bio-plasma Blast marker. Lyanna's Beauty doubles away to the road to blast the Red Queen from behind, but does no damage. Punch and Jewelee again sustain fire on the Assault Swarm, taking out 2 Hormagaunts, 2 Raveners, and 2 Termagants. The Assault Swarm doubles up to mingle proudly around their Mom and fires on the Hellbringer, breaking the Warhound which falls back. Muninn caustiously advances to fire on the Harridan to no effect other than getting its attention? Apprised of the loss of the Emperor's Ire, the shaken Thunderbolt pilots again stand down. The Harridan embraces Muninn in an assault, losing 2 Raveners, but knocking the Warhound down. ![]() The Deathwind doubles to fire on both the Red Queen and the Assault Swarm and actually manages to kill a Tyranid Warrior, but it is too little, too late? End of Turn: All Imperial units rally, why the Tyranids just dance around. AMTL: 0 vs Tyranids 1 - Major Tyranid victory |

Great battle rep. What did you think of the queenicide scenario? |

(ragnarok @ Nov. 26 2006,19:22) QUOTE Great battle rep. ?What did you think of the queenicide scenario? Well, in the initial stages it hadn't started as a "Regicide" mission, but a "disruption" one with the Imperials trying to kill enough Synapse creatures to put a dent in the Tyranid command and control. Despite taking a Titan Legion list, I don't think my opponent felt I'd risk the Queen Herself in the mission, let alone field a (Tournament legal, actually!) Bio-Titan army! *laugh* The game may have only lasted three turns, but it was very tense as we both maneuveured for position. When both my Hierophants went up in smoke so easily, I thought I was done for. *laugh* All-in-all it was a very enjoyable, and close!, game. |

(Hena @ Nov. 26 2006,19:44) QUOTE Did you cost the hierodules / trygons a 100 points and used the latest version from Jaldon? If I use them, I'll be using 125 as cost. I used the 7.1 ones, not the new proposed ones. ?I'm still waiting for a full "update" before I start using the new stats. |

Wow, another exciting battle. I wonder how it would have turned out if the Reaver had been able to firefight with just the Queen. |
