Location: Utah, pick a Pacific Island the other half of the year.
To start the ball rolling...............

I do want to cut back on the flame weapons here, but I do not want to cut back on the MW. These should be horrible assault monsters able to rip enemy WEs to shreds when they get close enough, or scatter enemy tanks and infantry three sheets to the winds, in the same situation.

I have some ideas that I worked on while I was away and will be posting them as time permits in the next day or two.

Here are the Independent / Synapse Bio-Titans that were were hashing out in the Norn Queen Thread:


- Scythed Hierodule (125pts):
- Speed 15cm / Armour 4+ RA / DC 3 / CC3+ / FF5+
- Acid Spray /15cm / AP2+/AT6+ / Ignore Cover
- Huge Scything Talons: +2 MW TK(1) CC attacks.


- Barbed Hierodule (125pts):
- Speed 15cm / Armour 4+ RA/ DC 3 / CC5+ / FF4+
- Twin-Linked Bio Cannon 2x / 45cm / AP3+/AT4+ / Ignore Cover


- Trygon (125pts):
- Speed 20cm / DC 3 / Armour 3+  / CC 3+ / FF 6+
- Large Scything Talons: +2 MW CC attacks.
- Bio-Electric field / D3 shots /20cm / AP3+/AT6+ / Ignore Cover
- Invulnerable Save, Infiltrate.


- Harridan (225pts):
- Speed 35cm / DC 3 / Armour 5+ RA / CC4+ / FF5+
- Twin-Linked Bio Cannon 2x / 45cm / AP3+/AT4+ / Ignore Cover
- Large Scything Talons: +2 MW CC attacks.


- Vituraptor (325pts):
- Speed 30cm / DC 4 / Armour 4+ RA / CC 4+ / FF 4+
- 2x Bio Cannons 2x / 45cm / AP4+/AT5+ / Ignore Cover
- Spore Cannon /Template / AP5+/AA5+ /Ignore Cover
- 2x Monstrous Claws - +1EA TK (d3)


- Hierophant (250pts):
- Speed 25cm / DC 6 / Armour 4+ RA / CC 3+ / FF 5+
- Huge Scything Talons: +2 MW TK(1) CC attacks.
Additionally, the Hierophant must select two weapons biomorphs from the Bio-Titans biomorphs list.


- Hydraphant (350pts):
- Speed 25cm / DC 8 / Armour 4+ RA / CC 3+ / FF 5+
- Huge Scything Talons: +2 MW TK(1) CC attacks.
- Warp Blast /30cm /AP4+ AT4+ AA5+
- Bio-Plasmic Breath /Template /MW 5+ /Ignore Cover
Additionally, the Hierophant must select two weapons biomorphs from the Bio-Titans biomorphs list.



Bio-Titan weapons biomorphs:

- Bio Cannon 2x / 45cm / AP4+/AT5+ / Ignore Cover
- Ripper Tentacles - +d3EA
- Monstrous Claws - +1EA TK (d3)
- Pyro-Acidic Spray - Template, AP5+/AT6+ Ignores Cover




Changes:

- Trygon lost infiltrate.
- Trygon downgraded to 125pts.



At this point I'd like to also throw the Dominatrix into the arena.


- Speed 25cm / DC 8 / 4+ RA  / CC 3+ / FF 5+ (500 pts)
Warp Blast /30cm /AP4+ AT4+ AA5+
Bio-Plasmic Breath /Template /MW 5+ /Ignore Cover
Monstrous Claws /Base Contact /MWTK (D3) /+2 attacks


I'll propose some initial Update ideas of mine for the Dominatrix soon.

Dominatrix Mini-Update:

Dominatrix (500 pts)
- Speed 25cm / DC 8 / 4+ RA  / CC 3+ / FF 5+
- Large Warp Blast / 30cm / MW 4+
- Bio Cannon 2x / 45cm / AP4+/AT5+ / Ignore Cover
- 2x Monstrous Claws - +1EA TK (d3)
- Smite


Changes:
- Breath Weapon removed.
- Dominatrix's Warp Blast significantly upgraded.
- Monstrous claws stay the same.
- Added a Bio-Cannon (The cannon on the back is 95% identical to the Exocrine Bio-Cannon)
- She gains Smite in engagements.


Reasons:
- I wanted to accentuate her psychic abilities a little.

Pyro-Acidic Spray - Template, AP5+/AT6+ Ignores Cover


Covers the "breath weapons" for the Bio-titans.

The Hierophant can still take one or two template weapons under the proposed modular system as long as you select the acid spray instead of other biomorphs. Even model it as a breath weapon if you like.

EDIT:

I don't think we should give the dominatrix a breath weapon. It should have powerful psychic attacks and the Bio-Cannon that is strapped on its back, IMHO.

Hierodules move 20 as they are without infiltrate.

Costs up to 150, quite likely.


Acid spray is different from haruspex?

Good point, Haruspex should get this new Acid Spray stat.

It's a extra Macro-Weapon attack used at range in Engagements, using the FF value, normally by Space Marine Librarians.

Smite is EA (+1), MW in fire-fight. I think. Though she should really just have that  on the stat-sheet.

I'd have no problem with the Dominatrix getting AA 4+, Macro-Weapon on her blast. This looks like a reasonable list... I might actually suggest moving the breath weapon to AP 3+/AT 5+. I did some math last night, and I have to say that 4+/6+ seems distinctly under-powered for a titan-class weapon. Comparatively it's worse hit rate then a VMB under most conditions, equal when firing into cover, with less then half the range. The only way it's every functionally better is if you can consistently cover more then 4 stands with it (And personal experience with flame-templates in the AMTL list tells me that's VERY hard to do even with 30cm move, much less 25cm move). Especially with the new revisions making them not able to double-up hits. 3+/5+ might be a better choice, allowing you a short-range burst of flames, but almost guaranteeing you that the enemy CAN shoot back or fire-fight you on their activation. Or on the next turn.

Aye that's a point, with disalowing double-hits flame templates may need to get better to compensate, since taking two templates will effectively become pointless now.
