Post subject:  What do people think of the Nids?
Being a fledgling Nid player (haven't played a game with them yet)I am curious to know what people think of the current Nid list. Are there parts of it that work well, while there are parts that don't? For instance, should I take a Dominatrix? It looks terribly expensive for something that very well may get blown away by TK fire. I haven't yet worked out what types of formations to take etc... so I am interested to know what others do. I will have over 10K points worth of nids very soon when my recent ebay win comes in - it's just I don't really know what to do with it all :D I'll probably even trade/sell some it if I don't use it much.

The games that have gone well for me have been the ones where I have managed to contain the enemy - this has mainly been acheived by the use of large common brood swarms (and few failed activations).

I have not tried my Dominatrix out yet either but may well give it a run out next weekend as a failed activtation can really really hurt the nids!

I always field a 'phant of some sort - opponents are drawn to it like a moth to light and it sucks a ton of incoming fire (which will hopefully allow your other swarms to get up there into the fray).

I love 'fexes but they never seem to perform on the day.

To sum, I would go gaunt heavy to begin with and then feed in other troops as you see fit.
