When the idea for 2 strong warrior broods was first introduced I was estactic, the idea of slightly reinforcing infantry synapse to withstand synapse wilt filled me with excitment. I was soon busy designing armies with infantry broods lead by 4 or 5 warriors (the points saved allowing me an extra tyrant). However I managed to miss the abuse that 2 strang formations could give. Despite this I think that being able to have a variable brood size is important, so what about saying that warrior broods are 3-5 strong? This way they can be a fluid size formation (with a maximum of 15 stands, so it might still be open to abuse) Also, is there any chance of us getting winged warriors? |

Perhaps of more use in larger games. Or in a campaign where the Nid opponents have much increased the number of snipers they field. This way they can be a fluid size formation (with a maximum of 15 stands, so it might still be open to abuse) |

I'm not sure if this has changed, but can you have up to three Synapse Creature groups together per Synapse swarm? So that allows 3, 6, or 9 Warrior groups, or a Tyrant with 3 Warriors, etc. |

What kind of abuse might this cause? |

Witha swarm size of 70 or 80 it could fairly safely engage two or even three enemy formations at once. Ad a couple of LSNs to spawn to replace lost numbers and you have a potentialy unstoppable steam roller. It has no one point of weakness with that many synapse, and it will pretty much crush anything it contacts. Largest tactical problem you would face would be bothering to stand up when it was your turn cos it would be so boring to play.... Might make a good opponent for a single player game though: Can the imperial guard stop the tyranid steam roller before their convoy can escape the table or something... |
