So, has anyone been able to abuse the commander ability on Lictors in the current WIP list?  I tend to run with two swarms of them and it certainly hasn't been a game winner for me!  *laugh*

Most people realize the danger they represent and either FF them or shoot them out of the middle or take oblique shots at the potential combined assault swarms to cut a larger than 5cm gap between them and the Lictors.

I like the *feel* of it, but, so far, I haven't been able to abuse it... heck, that's even *if* my Lictors activate!

Any thoughts?

Abusing lictors is wrong and should be reported to your neatest synapse creature. :p

Now back on topic, I don't really field them, I prefer to spend my independant allowance on stealers and biotians.  Though I'll see about firring them in in mygame against NO-1 on the 8th.

Hi Guys,

Lictors have been one of the units that most players have mentioned as being overpowered, but I haven't seen the problem.

There are good counters to Lictors and with their rising costs, you can't easily overpower the enemy with them.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

And they are *horribly* vulnerable to FF engagements!

Which I always feel as wrong.  In 40k (I know comparisions don't work that well), I lose most of mine to close combat.  Their cameloanic skin protecting them from most incoming fire, but is lost when they fight.

Thoug I don't know what should be done with this without adding to their, already long, special rules list.

Haven't had a chance to play again unfortunately. However, as I said before it is for fluff reasons as well as gameplay reasons that I think the commander abiltiy is unwarranted.

I would agree, it seems strange that a unit has both the Commander and Loner "abilities".

Well, Lictors are the "scouts" of the army, leaving a pheromone trail to prey: the larger the prey grouping the stronger the pheromone response.  The commander ability is being used to represent that.

It's not the Lictor giving orders!  *laugh*

It just seemed an odd combination. ?But I guess "strange" is an understatement in regards to the 'Nids..  :wow:
