I'm planning on converting one or two carnies into venomfexi to give by biotank broods a few more shots on the way in. However I'm not sure if they are worthy the cost. I lose 2x 3+CCMW attacks (and 1x 3+cc attack) and gain 2x 30cmAP5+/AT6+ shota and +1 to the FF value. I know that getting a carnie into CC is hard (you get within 15cm next turn the enemy wins the initative and backs away and makes you do the 6cm FF ) so the increase in FF is useful, as well as the ability to (maybe) kill a few enemies on the way in. WhatI was thinking was to remove one of its venom cannons and either give it back one set of monsterous claws (+1CCMW) or possible a devourer (+2FF?). However before I open up such a discussion, has anyone found venomfexi useful? ![]() |

Honestly, I've stopped using the Screamer-Killer variant as I've been mainly fighting against Tau and Eldar lately, so the CCMW attacks have been useless, but the 2x shooting has been great! I'd really prefer not to have it changed as I've been making some very venomous broods that have really freaked people out! |

Thats what I wanted to hear. That the venomfex worked. Strange how the brood is evolving. Started out tooth 'n' claw and how filled with lots of shootie bio guns. |

I think really, it's the nature of the beast and, to me, much better fits the concept of the "Phase IV: Subdual" organization of Tyranids. At this stage of an attack, they will have faced enemy combants and had to adapt to longer range warfare. To really keep with the "tooth-n-claw" style, we should try developing a "Phase III: Attack" armylist. |
