I have lots of SIB Tyranid Models in my shelf but wanted to wait with painting them until the tyra list has reached a nearly final state. This is to avoid painting minis I don't need later on and to know roughly how much I need of each unit type. And to make conversions of models that are not available as minis, eg. Raveners, Viteruperators ...
Would you recommend to wait further or do you think I can start with my Tyranid modelling? I just don't want to be disappointed when I have painted/modeled everything and the list changes significantly after that. For example removing/adding units.
If it's minor changes in the list like points cost, army composition, etc. I can live with that.
Comments welcome!
PS: Actual status of my tyra models: http://www.sven-kubein.de/main/content/ ... anids.html

Looking at your figs, I don't know why you would be worried about building more. The minis that you are likely to have too much of are the big heavy things you already have built and painted.
I'd say the core structure of the list is very unlikely to change at this point. I would say go ahead and base more infantry/basic broods. They will definitely be required in large numbers regardless of future changes.
The list will surely remain highly flexible due to the swarm structure, meaning that regardless of the final format/stats/whatever, you will likely not have minis "wasted" because you can't field them, with the possible exception of the WEs (which, again, you already have done).

BTW, I've seen pics of your army before and admired it then. Nice job.
