Post subject:  LISTS: 3000 point first Tyranid list...
I have the models already (about 7k points worth) and put together my first 3k point list.  I haven't played with the bugs yet and so I'll post it here first and let you all cut and paste around with it  :)   I am very open to suggestion and will take all criticism and praise under consideration.  The list was built around a variety of models since I hadn't played with the bugs yet, it'll give me feel for what everything does and what roles they play in the battle.  Thanks for looking and good gaming!

Hi 2.0,

I'm afraid I've not painted any of my larger Tyranid creatures and therefore this in not close to any army I have tried.

There is another thread where I asked for help. Some of the tactics thrown up there might help you.

Way to few bullet troops.  I don't like the Hydraphant, the hierophant is faster and almost as good in an engagement, also cheaper.  Your enemy also only has two main targets your dominatrix brood and your biotitan.  The others are too small to worry him so will be ignored.

my 2K7 hoard will run something along the lines of

brood 1
warriors
10 hormogaunts
20 termagaunts

brood 2
warriors
16 termagaunts
6 raveners

brood 3
tyrant
4 carnifex (cc variant)
3 Haruspex

Brood 4
LHN
4 exorcine (planning on lyco might go for Dacto though)

Brood 5
LHN (spare for brood 4)

Brood 6
Hierohant

Brood 7
Hierophant

Brood 8
Hierophant


Synpase       460pts  17%
independant  900pts  33%
Common       680pts  25%
uncommon    650pts  24%

75 models
Brood 4 will be a garrison brood (gotta love having a 0cm move unit).  My main tactic will be similar to my 40k tatic of reminding my opponent to shoot the big ones and swamp him with gaunts

Just realized how low my swarms were... as I've been aquiring bugs, I guess I haven't been getting enough swarms.  I'm getting some 40k rippers to be Raveners today and that'll get me up to my 750 pt minimum... guess it's off to ebay to watch for bug swarms!
