*** Does anyone know the current state of the Tyranid list? ***?

The last version I have is 5.40B. ?I know Maksim has been working on a set of rules for his own game that he is putting out.

But I have not seen a post about the state of the list. Though it could have been lost in the Epicomms forum wipe.

I am just curious. Once the Lost & Damned list is turned in (hopefully soon), I plan on working on my 'Nid horde.

Last that I heard, Maksim was working in the next version and was close to releasing it. I am not sure how far he has got with that so far.

Hi Audrey,

I have v5.45b sitting on my computer, but haven't looked at it in a few weeks.

One of the next steps is to tone down the Lictor.

Once the Specialist Games forums moved, playtesting dried up.

I'd be very happy to have you be an active part of the team again.

I am developing my own game, but I still plan to finish up the 'Nid project. I haven't given up on that.

However, our dates have been pushed back considerably (At east two more years... ) and I haven't heard from Jervis in ages.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Is this a recent development? What is the proposed release date for the official Tyranid army list now?

Thanks.

Hi Iain,

This information was published on the Specialist Games web site.

I was not informed personally.

The earliest we will see E-A Tyranid miniatures will be two years or more from now according to the latests news releases from Specialist Games. I only go by that site about once every week or two.

Jervis would like the army lists available as free downloads ASAP.

I feel that the current list needs more development, but that the core of it is good.

A lot of us don't go by those new forums so we would otherwise never hear about it. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news if you hadn't heard about it before.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Two years or more? I hate to be a pessimist, but if we have to wait that long, I'll be surprised if we ever see them.

It is working now.  http://www.specialist-games.com/epic/Vault.asp .  I know the SG forum was down yesterday afternoon ( roughly 4-5pm US East Coast time).  That may have caused a problem with the regular site as well.

Maksim:

I do try to pop by the SG site as often as possible, a couple of times a week if I can, but this had passed me by. I did expect that development would continue to slow, so it is not an entire surprise for me.

My worry is that the minis wont be available until then (and I dont think that there are many people here who expect that deadline to remain unchanged without being further put back or for Epic to be 'around' at that point).

Do you know when the existing Epic Tyranid minis will once again become available? Army lists that are under development, I can live with, but not having access to more minis hurts.

Thanks.

Hi Iain,

The best information I have about 'Nid minis is the following:

The earliest we will see E-A Tyranid miniatures will be two years or more from now according to the latests news releases from Specialist Games.

I wish I had better news for you.

And this is only according to the "press" releases at the Specialist Games site.

I haven't personally heard from Jervis in quite some time now. That poor guy must be under a lot of stress and pressure with the carpet constantly getting pulled from under his feet.

I hope that Specialist Games survives all the changes going on at GW. I have no reason to think otherwise, but I worry with all the chaotic behavior currently going on at GW.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

That is such a shame! It pretty much puts it out of the question that we will see any Tyranid minis - at least for the immediate future. I think that it is so important that the existing Tyranid stuff is released now.

The way that things are going, it may end up making third edition look well supported!  :/

Boy, wouldn't that be a sad commentary on E:A?  ???  Here I thought that it wasn't possible to support a game less than E40k.

'There goes Jervis' is something which sadly might well happen soon, judging by the above... :( :( :(

I think it's safe to say that if Jervis leaves GW, Epic is dead.

Well EpicA at any rate.
Still at least there's NetEpic to keep the flame going. I might even have to dip my toes into the NetEpic waters if SG the trend on support for EpicA continues at current trends....
Cheers
