A tyranid invasion
I would like to see rules on the climatic changes a tyranid invasion swarm can bring about.
How about limited visibility because a huge cloud of spores is blowing over the battlefield.
The spores interfering with equipment, breathed in, toxins and viruses affecting soldiers etc.
In gaming terms randomly determining blastmarker(s) on enemy units, or an initiative penalty would work.
I want to get the feeling that the entire planet is under attack.
The synapse node, a good idea but I would like to see more on how the tyranids affect the plant life of a world, such as carnivorous plants.

(If someone comes up with a set of rules for the weather the above ideas could be based upon them)

Another idea I have is to have an extra wood/jungle placed on the table-top, (just like in the wood elf army book). This is to represent the accelerated growth of local flora during an invasion.
Also plant based terrain features could have a limited fighting capability, representing the voracious plant species of the tyranids.

How about rules for various types of tyranid plants and other terrain features, such as reclamation pools, spore chimneys, capilliary towers etc.

Mycetic spores
These should be also used like drop pods, I like the current rules of using them for spawning, but I am also thinking of the future and a seeding swarm army list.
They should be unarmed, and follow the planetfall rules, some spores could have no transport capacity, but explode or have weapons which fire on impact just like the 'deathwind' weapon on space marine drop-pods. The transport should be limited to Infantry and vehicle walkers (carnifexes).

I think you should develop these rules and make them parts of some special scenarios...

I like your ideas, too. :cool:  They probably couldn't work in a GT game, but would make for very interesting scenarios. :)

The mycetic spores as drop pods would probably be best in a Phase III army list, which incidentally, would have been my preference to the Phase IV.  I think at Phase IV, you can pretty much count the planet lost and (pardon the expression) bug out.

I would love to see an earlier phase force, too. I have my eyes on a Seeding Swarm force... Maksim, will this ever happen?

Hi Iain,

I'm not sure is other phases of the list will ever come out. I'm solely cocncentrating on getting the next version of the existing list out and am not to ficussed on the long-term at the moment.

However, I think it's a great idea and would love to do it.

As a long term term ideas a I would also like to see a seeding swarm list.
For now however I think we should concentrate our efforts on the current list we are working.
I will gather up whatever ideas I have on the seeding list and wait until the current list is out before posting them.

I re-iterate I like the current rules but I also like the drop pod rules, my opinion is both.

With regard to the terraformin of world by the tyranids

It could provide further ideas for tyranids invasions.

I particularly like the broodhive, however it says that such a thing only occurs in unsupported invasions, I have no idea what the background is to the Hamman's world invasion, therefore I don't know if it is feasible for this army list, somehow I doubt it.
