Easy, just buy a dominatrix and a meiotic spore buddy for it. Half of the fm is composed of scouts so you can set up right in front w/ your bio-titan :) Nice! First move ditch the spore behind if needed. Not that you'd want to have the dominatrix half-way across the table since it's a support shootie unit (?!?!?!)

Surely the "for most purposes War Engines count as a number of units equal to their DC" rule applies here? Your formation isn't mostly scouts, it's mostly war engine.

Was the whole question of do WE's count starting DC as unit's ever settled? It was asked around how many dice they roll for teleport/difficult terrain but could be relevant here if a WE counts as 1 unit per DC I guess.

I think spirit of the game/fairness should trump WAAC gamer tricks.

That's your interpretation and probably needs an FAQ as does the issue of WE going through dangerous terrain and teleporting. "For most rule purposes" but then it also says "This and all of the other modifications to the core game
rules are described in detail as follows."

Either way the v10.1 list allows up to 6 spores anyway. So for 450 pts that's a garrisoning dominatrix.

IIRC both of those are in the FAQ, certainly teleporting is in there (roll 1 dice per dc), and I *think* dangerous terrain is probably in there too.

One of the many issues with the list.

It's not that WAAC to think that tyranid big things could infiltrate ahead of the swarm and the spore loophole was added to make this possible. With its AA umbrella and overwatch on a BLOODY 60cm 3BP MW ATTACK, it's certainly tasty! That's looking into somebody's deployment zone...

I'm pretty sure Dave will tell you it wasn't intentional.

Paring it back to 3 spores would fix it, then.

6 spores on the Nexus Swarm was definitely a C&P error from the Tyranid swarm, it should have been 3. I still don't know if they'll remain in the list though.

We always played WEs as counting as their number of units for garrison and other purposes. Probably worth a FAQ.

How do you play WEs in dangerous terrain? 1 roll per starting DC?

Nope. 1 roll.

Is this the ruling or the UK convention?

The war engine rules are quite clear in the matter. War engines that fail difficult terrain takes a hit - a hit is later defined as 1 DC.
