EPIC UK Tyranid Codex Epic UK are pleased to announce the conclusion of our longest project todate, Codex Tyranids. This introduces a brand new army to the UK tournament scene and to those that want to use the list. Thanks go out to all our playtesters and the wider community who's initial ideas were added into the mix at the start of the process. As always, please feel free to point out any spelling, grammatical or otherwise missed errors and enjoy. http://www.epic-uk.co.uk/armylists.shtml Quick reference sheet is up as well. _________________ Epic UK - Improving and Enhancing Epic Gaming in the UK Epic-UK |

I've seen it in play; it's a superior "old models" style army list IMO. |

The design notes talk about returning gaunts, but I take it this rule was dropped? |

Yes, TBH it was leading to the gaunts costing too much and the army not having the hoard feeling that we wanted. |

Why are gargoyles listed as 0-4 on the Harridan? Why not just "A Harridan plus 4 Gargoyles" ? |

This gives people the option of playing with or without gargoyles & yes there isn't really a reason why people wouldn't want to, but some do. |

Nest swarm.... 175pts normal, 400 big, that's double plus 50, everything else is double MINUS 50pts was that intentional? (and if so any reason why?) |

Quote: The perspective of a never ending wave of creatures was included with the ability to return Termagants and Hormagaunts. Maybe I am being dense but where is this ability laid out in the army list? I don't read anything about returning units to the board at all. Help an old blind man, will ya sonny? ![]() |

Well, that was my point in placing the above quote. That sentence explicitly states that there is an ability to return Termagants and Hormagaunts to play in order to create the perspective of a never ending wave. I'm not questioning the lack of the ability, only that the wording of that sentence confuses the reader into thinking that such an ability exists; it should be corrected. |

Can anyone 'in the know' please give a brief opinion on how this list would work if it were to only use 'modern' style units and leave out the old style models that have no modern equivalent. Is there any vital element that would be missing? (I tend to prefer the newer more sleek/fast tyranid look, to the 'lumbering' old style) Additionally is there a modern equivalent to: Dactylis, Dominatrix, Exocrine, Haruspex, Hydraphant, Malefactor (ie namechanges I missed, similar role replacements etc) |
