Quote: Additionally is there a modern equivalent to: Dactylis, Dominatrix, Exocrine, Haruspex, Hydraphant, Malefactor (ie namechanges I missed, similar role replacements etc) For Dactylis I converted a sort of giant biovore from various bits, Dominatrix and other bio-titans still exist in modern Nids AFAIK, if any army is gonna have big monsters it's Nids, and the Carnifex equivalent slugs I've converted Carnifex's into Dakkafexes/Razorfexes/Gunfexes/etc. Count as rule as long as your consistent. |

I had considered using carnifex variants or tyrannofex style things for those, but they have a different speed and cc values very different from the carnifex so was having second thoughts. I guess ill just go with it though as they are the closest thing and seem to have some acceptance. Thanks for the insight. |

Raveners seem really over powered. CC3+ EA+1 MW? The MW is not needed, and even at 2xCC3+ they're probably too good. |

Not to mention Raveners are meant to be weaker than Warriors. |

Raveners have always been slightly weaker than warriors in combat (nigh identical basic stats, but with less powerful "weapons") I don't doubt their stats were done for balance rather than to follow the background. |

Looks decent enough overall. I’ll be curious to see what Man of Kent makes of it as he’s got lots of experience fighting with the tyranids. Personally I think it’s a shame the list doesn’t have an alternate option for shooty Carnifexes, but in the absence of that I reckon the best thing for a modern style modelled hivefleet to do would be to proxy ‘fexes as the tyranid vehicles (assuming the hivefleet has evolved them faster/lighter than normal), so you could have: Exocrine = Barbed Carnifex Haruspex = Scythed Carnifex Malefactor = Devourer Carnifex Carnifex = Tervigon or maybe Tyrant Guard? I can’t think of a modern proxy for a Dactylis but something could probable be converted, perhaps using 40k tyranid bits and green stuff to make something looking like a larger biovore. I spotted a minor typo in the end notes by the way; under Tyranid army book is born it says "To allow this Warriors and Termagants were given 15cm more", instead of move. |

Anyway, I've been saying for a while, apart from a few stat oddities (Like the aforementioned Raveners thing), I'd be happy for this list to become the de-facto NetEA "old models" list. I've seen it in play, and it seems fine. The simplicity of the special rules are especially enjoyable to see in play. On the other hand, due to successive incompetent &/or absent Tyranid Army Champions, the NetEA tyranid list is a great big mess. I'd rather it were scrapped, this one adopted for old models, and a competent champion put in place to develop a "new models" list as a counterpart to it, for those who don't enjoy playing games with big, exceedingly ugly, slugs. |

If the community want it then the list is free to be used as a NetEA "old models" list. |
