Can anyone explain the difference between Hierophant, Hydraphant, and Heirodule?  Did the Hydraphant replace the Heirodule or some combination there of?

I think we need a FAQ for the nids...

I think this is how it goes:

Originally we had the Hierodule and the Hierophant.

Forgeworld made a Hierodule which was much smaller (scale wise) then the old epic version.

When the 'nid list came out Jervis created the Hydraphant, bumped the Hierophant up to the Hydraphant, the Hierodule up to the Hierophant and added the new forgeworld-sized Hierodule.

Hydraphant: Big Bio-Titan created by Jervis as a neutered Dominatrix. A Tyranid Battle Titan

Hierophant: Consider it to be in the Scout Titan class, that is better able to keep up with the implacable advance of the lesser creatures then the Dominatrix.

Hierodule: More the equal of the Baneblade then a Warhound Titan. Think of it as a cheap alterantive for WE support and between the Hierophant and the Trygon in size.

Trygon: A small support WE, more like a big tank but smaller then a Baneblade.

Hope this was the answer you were after.

Jaldon :p

So the models are now:

Hierophant = Hydraphant
Hierodule = Hierophant
Forgeworld model = Hierodule.

Except the Forgeworld models are no long listed on their site, so I'm looking at either a scratch built, or proxy?

I would put the Heirodule at the length of a land raider, not 2x bigger. I could count as their knight equivalent as a DC1 WE but even built out of a termagaunt it's too big.

my $0.02.

Cheers!

The Hierodule has three Mass Points in Imperial Armour, so that puts it on the same "mass scale" as a Warhound Titan; I'll review its 40k: Apocalypse stats, but it think it's about the same.

The current Land Raider model is fairly large and the Hierodule should be a bit bigger than it; a Termagant, with a trimmed tail should be the appropriate size, just thinner and taller.

Great! I have lots of 40K Tyranid stuff put aside and I would be very interested in this. Thanks Olly.

Interesting. A Tyranid battleforce is starting to look good for conversion purposes...

Cheers!
