Post subject:  Winged warrior
Have there ever been winged warrior in previous edition of the list? If yes, why have they been discarded? Were they to powerful? I see the potential of warrior flying at 25-30 cm, following easily the gaunts (which is currently their problem) and using fully their EA in CC. Their armor could be decrease, in the same fashion as the tyrant : 4+ to 5+ or even 6+, since the tyrant as a RA.

I made an easy conversion of warriors with gargoyles wings, to represent the "hive mind link" of the Phase III army, but it could be easyly extanded to other bases to create a fast attack swarm. And it pains me to have a model that cannot be used in the phase IV army.

Yes, they've made appearances from time to time, and yes, they're too powerful.  They make for *very* fast infantry swarms that can race around the battlefield, completely swamping the enemy.  

And, while it might be realistic, it's no fun to play against, so they've been removed.  

They may make another appearance in a future Tyranid variant list, but they won't be likely to appear in the "core" Tyranid list.

Indeed, the Warriors are the only thing slowing my brood creatures down enough to keep them out of assaults because of coherency issues.  Unless a brood touches down via spore pod right next to the enemy my assault usually have my Gaunts in CC, Gants in FF and if I'm lucky my Warriors making it into to FF as well.

Winged warriors would be fun to model, but upgrading an Assault Group to have them should cost 50-75 points at least.
