Post subject:  Looking for 'Nid Experts !?
O.K. Bug Experts ... Got 3 of the E40K Hive Tyrants and the Big SM2 Carnifex ...  I'm using the SM2 H/Tyrant for mine, he's cooler ! But what can I use the 3 E40K H/Tyrants and  SM2 Big Carnifex for ?   I'm using Pendraken 10mm Aliens for Raveners. So what other options do I have ?   :alien:

WhaT ?  ???  No suggestions ?!? Not Very sporting old boys !! :O  I'm using some old G/W OOP Space Fleet 'Nids (SF'Ns) as bio-tanks, kind'a like what Armorcast used to make in 40K scale.  And I'm using some SF'Ns as Harridans.  And I may use some as Mysetic Spores ?     And I using the Old Chaos Familiars Genestealers as Patriarchs(based on the old fluff !). They will be like that 'Nid 40K G/Stlr fig with his arms open wide and head thrown back with his mouth open.  What was he called ?  Brood Brother ?!?  Well I need some feed back from you 'Nid-philes !  :alien:

That'd be a Broodlord, basically that's the new name for a Genestealer Patriarch.


Since you write a lot of your own rules, I'd tend to make some more powerful ones for the older models, and say that they're the same genus as the normal sized ones, they're just super-large freaks with harder stats and stronger attacks! :D

Well reviewing my epiX-Files ... I see a few years back they Bugs had Tyrant Guards, which looks like a smaller version of a Hive Tyrant ... which works for me since the SM2 H/Ty is bigger than the 3 E40K H/Tys ... The Big SM2 Carni, I'll use as a Stone-crusher Carni, that I saw in the F/W '07 Catalogue.    And I have some Pendraken 10mm "Movie" Aliens I'm using as Raveners and as Malenthropes which I also saw in the F/W '07 Cat. ... Making my own TO&E sheets too. So I'm making a Tyranid V.L4 !  :alien:

Hi Legion 4 - can you post any pics of the 10mm Alien Pendraken figures you use as Raveners. I was thinking of using my 40K rippers as a basis for my Malinthropes but need inspiration for Raveners.  Any photos would be appreciated.

I can Dave but they look just like the Aliens in the movie !  :alien: I'll see what I can do, IIRC, Someone posted pics of these ... under the DRM Proxy thread ... So stand by ! :D And I decided to use the Alien Queen with the big head crest as another version of Zoanthropes. And all the other "Aliens" as Raveners    :D

Yep, thanks again, Col. they are prefect for 'Nids !  I'm thinking about how to base them. And I've made my own TO&Es/Lists for 3 Hive Fleets and a Hive Swarm. Based  on SM2, E40K and the 'Nids rules from the Tac Cmd crew.  :alien:  'Nids v.L4 :laugh:

I've based mine in the same way as in those pics using coins.  Synapse creatures like Tyrants and Warriors are on 2p coins (25mm?) and brood creatures like 'fexes, raveners and gaunts are on 1p coins (10mm?) - this makes it easy to do the housekeeping without having to constantly check models and data sheets.

Those aren't mine, I've done black with a purple/green/black ink glaze for the insect look in the absolute minimum time.
