Quote (ragnarok @ 22 Mar. 2006 (09:05)) | Just to throw another aspect into the WE arguement. (I believe that) Nids are the only race that can lose their titan class WE to the first hit it takes. | Yes I think you are correct. Imperials can lose their titan to first hit but at the end phase only.
Eldar? Nah. Holofields go out. Orks? Just fire. Chaos? Blood rage/Imperial one. Tau? Manta just loses weapon range and suffers damage.
Seems like you are correct.

Slight correction Tneva82. With imperial titans your first have to drop their voids, then the first actual hit can kill them, after they have had a go that turn.

I really like this discussion, so please keep it coming!!
In my oppinion as stated before, the nids have their disadvantages as every army has. But the advantages they gain from Unstoppable imho isn't weight off by all their disadvantages.
Wouldn't it make sense to compare the statistics how the nids performed against other armies? Then we would see if the list is fair atm. There was a BattleStats Webtool on the SG site, is this still active?

Yeah, me too ! ?
Unfortunately, I don't feel I can comment much, as I have zero experience with Nids. I've read their army list and I regularly follow the discussions on this board, but that's it.
What I can say, though, is that while the Unstoppable rule may be too powerful as is, I'd hate to see it go because it seems to fit the "Tyranid horde" image almost perfectly.
As for the FANATIC BATTLESTATS, they indicate that Nids have a 61% win/loss ratio, which is certainly a bit high but on par with Eldar and Tau armies (Siegemasters, Ulthwe, Feral Orks and LatD are also over 60% but less games have been entered).
Anyway, please keep up with this nice discussion. As for me, I'll go back to lurking mode... ?

| Well, the battle stats wont tell you which rules version were used. For example, Chroma could have entered all his victories with the TTerror...
Furthermore, when I started to post on this forum, Jaldon quickly told me that the nid list was not finished and a bit overpowered.
Are they overpowered now? well yes, but it will be corrected sooner or later. Remember, this list is still experimental now.
@stone Foxx : I dont play nids and a lot of people switch armies here...

Okay so first hit after void shields are down can blown the titan in end phase. Even better for Imperials and worse for bugs who can lose their bio-titan to very first shot before bio-titan can even act.

For starters it does not have that many games. Secondly some games are inevitably experienced vs not-so-experienced where experienced often wins anyway(like the ork-chaos game I played in last ropecon. Chaos player wasn't that experienced with epic so I crushed him with pretty routine performance).
Last and worst: If it hasn't changed it doesn't differ different versions of lists so results from list A that was too good still count after list B comes which obviously causes funny effects.

Though yeah some periodic resetting might be good idea. Atleast for those concerning seriously changed army lists.

StoneFoxx | Please continue discuss this on this forum. I too, would like to see the Tyranid getting blast markers. I agree with StoneFox and I think BM is part of the game and it should not be exempt for Tyranids.

I fought a 3k game against the nids with my Sqaut (golgotha v2 rule) this past sunday. The result does not favor the Sqaut but it is not a total disaster.
I managed to kill 70% of the broods (terms and horms) but what really killed my sqaut is the assault. Pretty much in every assault, I would take addition 2+ damage because of the result roll difference. Those 2+ came from having no blaster markers and have more blaster markers.
How did I get blast marker from the nids? The Exocrine 'A'! The other thing that I noticed is that I only get to move in the very first turn. After that, I'm pretty much on sustain fire trying to fend off the swarms. After 3 turns, I managed to hold on to 1 objective which is the one right in front of me.
The point I would like to make is that Tyranids without BM is simply too evil. I dont think the spawning or the lack of ranger fighter hurts the Tyranids at all.
Just my 2 pennies.

Dont mean to be an A-hole but I really dont see the Tyranids need anything because they are already powerful enough. I think with the BM, it would give the opponent more room to position its line (for better or worse).
