A drunken war elephant was more 'fearless' than a sober one even though they were the same physically.

If I find out there's been underage Bio-Titan drinking, I am going to tell Mom!!!    :D

This elephant thing is kinda off topic, but from what I've heard common policy was generally to avoid the dubious 'lets get the elephants drunk before the battle' plan. They tended to be even more dangerous and intolerant of their crew... despite rumours to the contrary.

A horse was less skitterish, but fat drunk horses don't make very good mounts...  at least that was a criticism of the Indian cavalry by the Macedonians.

The bio titans are bigger than mom, they wont listen to her.  *sigh* The youth of todays brood.  :D

I am still not happy about a large biotitan being taken down by hackdown hits.  It would be like having removing fearless from Reavers or warhounds.  Okay not quite since we can't be broken in the first place, but in combat, where it matters it will be the same.

I've been thinking about the Heirophant for a while now and I think I might have a way of getting fearless and keeping its points the same.

Reduce its DC.

It has the same toughness, wounds and mass points as a Heirodule.  It is only marginally better with its save (2+ and a 5+ invulnrable compared to the drules 2+) and has regenerate.

The invulnrable and regenerate don't really add to to double DC (Inmy warped reality anyway).  So what about reducing its DC to 5 or even 4.  This way it becomes a lot more of a light support titan, more in line with the FW model (Yes I am trying to get E&C on my side by making it Forgeworldy  :D )

I just checked the Orkeosaurus, and it's 6DC and not fearless... of course it's only 150 points... and doesn't regenerate... and moves slower... but it's really hard to kill with a single AT shot *laugh*

I'm starting to look at the "Bio-Titans" something like this: the first half of their DC is their "shields" and the last half is their "life"... though I still feel bad when they die so fast!  *laugh*

Of course if we reduce it to 5DC people would possibly start looking at it as what it actually is - a tough bug - and not a Reaver Titan equivalent.

So in my mind, not a bad proposal Rag'

Bear in mind that a drop in DC is not just a change in how difficult the bio-titan is to actually kill - it also reduces its number of CC/FF rolls and its assault resolution value - so this would be a significant downgrade.

Its a trade off against between being able to take a load of incoming fire on the way in (higher DC) against survivability in assaults (Fearless).

Tough choice......

I'd be prepared to give a 5DC fearless hierophant a try.

If you are afraid of having not enough attacks in assaults just give it Extra Attacks.

I wouldn't mind DC4 fearless and an invunrable save.

If only I had an opponent to test it against.
