IMO it should be tested with the 2 warriors group. I'm fairly sure that the formations become too small for engage. But it would be very nice to test that thing.

Actually, it doesn't, because you don't have to have them all "equal" sized.  You put "bigger" swarms up front, and smaller ones, that will spawn to become bigger, in the back.

Your "frontline" swarms are still big and dangerous.

Those smaller swarms make all the difference, as well, I'll be trying it with 3-Warrior groups. ?I think the twin-Warrior group is just too good for the cheap activations.

@Hena, Chroma & Cw,

I agree with Hena. Minor changes + testing.

The identified problem or CONTROL is the 2 TW + 10 point Termigants. So now there's two elements of that which can be tested.

1. it should be tried with 2 TW + 15 point Termigants.

2. I also think you should go back to 10 point Termigants and then try 3 TW synapse.

Like Cw and Chroma though - I have a *fear* that both are problem. Therefore, I postulate that both will need to be changed in the end.

But to scientifically test and draw logical conclusions, you should have a control that's unchanged and only change a single item to test and then go back to the control and test something else. Observe results in all cases. Then extrapolate resolutions.

Cheers,

The changes are in a review thread somewhere, in essence I think off hand it was point point jumps for infantry and a few of the support options to get small discounts.

A 2700 point version of my last tourney force would be (dropping the tanks is the easist way and fiddling with the support slots).

150 pts Siegemaster Regimental HQ with
075 pts Thudd Gun battery
500 pts 4 Siegemaster Infantry Companies
200 pts Deathstrike Missile Battery
125 pts Siege Regiment AA Battery (emplacements)
300 pts 2 Light Tank Platoons
250 pts Sapper Platoon
750 pts 5 Siege Regiment Artillery Batteries (emplacements)

200 pts 2 Fortified Positions
150 pts Thunderbolt Squadron

Note I have a more recent all rounder army I will try and dig up.

Chroma, willing to fight another round against Tau possible new SHT? List in question would be

64 AP3+ shots if market and sustained from those SHT's if I counted right? Ouch. That could possibly match the "wounds" of termagaunt swarm...

Scary thing is it's not even that expensive point wise unlike 2 warlords+2 reavers kitted out with vulcan mega bolters(that's 84 AP3+ shots but costs whopping 3000 pts) which I thought might stand a chance against that swarm.

Hopefully Tau guys know what they are doing.

tneva, add to that the ability to fire out of LOS and 75 cm range...

I didn't specifically mention those to not despair even more  :D .

Yeah. That thing sounds rather crazy. 75cm, non-LOS, 8 AP3+ on sustain if marked and ignore cover? That's one scary tank!

Well. I'll give them benefit of doubt. I have seen lots of initially crazy propositions end up fixed to more reasonable levels in Epic playtesting.

Yes, this unit is halfway through discussion.  Lets not start the panic attacks yet. :)

I wouldn't expect it to retain the 8 AP shots per unit.  I would also expect the cost to be higher.

I've been wrong before though.. :p

The ignore cover I think is a bit much - I dislike the ability in general as it limits a players ability to do clever things with their units, which should always be encouraged.

I'd be very tempted to try and get an Etheral into the list.  Fearless FW cadre can hold ground rather well, which could prove very useful against the TT list.

Yeah but its a picket line that doesn't have to move.  Put your Pathfinders behind them (more than 10cm) and even if the the FWs get assaulted and broken they dont move.  Fearless and their armour will keep assault losses down.

But as L4 says.. do what works for you. :)
