I just finished going through the list, looks very good, the posibility of more than one dominatrix is... interesting.

The idea of the spore balloon sound like what I tried to convey on the Norn queen reports forums, and either that or the other suggestion of counting aircraft as if they have exit the table by an hostile edge are good ideas.

I found another typo, ravaner, not sure if it was already reported

On the carnifex issue, I have a suggestion, since there are two type of them, why not take the spore cysts away from the cc carni and give him +1 attack, even a normal one.
The carnis don't usually have this biomorph, specially CC ones

Jaldon, I noticed that 2 tyranid warrior synapse selection was missing? Is this intentional or just an oversight? I would have tried that out.

Didn't want to put it in the list until some have had a chance to ry it out and get back to me.

Also I'm not sure if the ravener is balanced.

Neither am I, but time will tell....

Also the haruspex needs to be looked at. I think that A should have FFMW instead of CC MW, but would it be too good? Also I haven't much used the A as B has the 15cm ranged weapon. Perhaps allow A to have 25cm move? I dunno. Anyone else using haruspexes and has a point.

I have been using both versions, along with other Nid units types, maxing them out and seeing what they can do.

Thanks All

Jaldon :p

(Haruspex):are you happy with the current versions then or what's your ideas for changing them?

Right now just messing with them to see what they can do, not really considering any changes yet. As always I am open for ideas.

I am doing the same thing With Carnies and Raveners, trying armies maxed out with them and seeing what they can do.

Sorry so short, be back up to full speed by the end of the week.

well, there is a moment that I have not posted anything here. Well, after a couple of game, I have fiew remarks to do :

- Carnies is totally balanced with 3+ AND IS, no need to change anything. 3+ it is strong, but only 6+ against macro the carnies have a tendency to fly away from the table. Maybe a brood (3) would be more correct, but there is NO problems with 3+&IS.

- Tyrannid warriorsX2 are a very valuable option, not too strong. It is true though that if you have the choice between X2 and X3, you will never take X3. But in a 3000-pts game, with warriors at 150 pts, you must choose between very fiew activation with an harridan or a vituperator, or only tyrans and warriors... boring! I very prefer X2 warriors group, you have much more options in a 3000-pts game.

- ravener is a little bit too strong, but not insane. Maybe 20 pts without infiltrators?

- the new lesser node is far more balanced.

- the 100-pts node should be have the same capacity the dominatrix have, +1D6 in spawning. Indeed, between 2 lesser nodes and 1 node, you never choose the node because he haven't teleport and spawn less broods.

I still think making the Ravener a LV would balance it.

Which is exactly what delicious Common Broods are... yum!  *laugh*

I actually, finally, got to face the 'Nids on the weekend (I'm usually the one fielding them in my local group), it was nasty!  Gonna post some comments about it eventually, just haven't had time.

But that's something that I would like to try out. Using another persons' army while I use his/her. Too bad I haven't got a chance to do that yet.

Fortunatly I have the luck of being able to do this. Playing against an army you are designing/use is very enlightning :(8:

- Carnies is totally balanced with 3+ AND IS, no need to change anything. 3+ it is strong, but only 6+ against macro the carnies have a tendency to fly away from the table. Maybe a brood (3) would be more correct, but there is NO problems with 3+&IS.

Thus far I agree the Carnies seem to fit well with 3+/IS at their present point level. Got a battle this weekend with an army maxed out on them to see how it works out.

I agree it would be a valuable option, and its intent is to allow Nid players to create larger Synapse Groups easier, and to possibly free up points for some bigger Synapse Bugs (Harridan/Vituperator). Considering most GT events call for a 2,700pt list the freed up points can be real handy.

That said my concern is that it could lead to some serious abuses that allow the Nid army to field a veratable Horde of activations, something I do not want to see. I am hoping the exposure caused by there only being two of them will discourage such abuse.

- ravener is a little bit too strong, but not insane. Maybe 20 pts without infiltrators?

I am worried about my favorite unit (Ravener), and am considering changes to it, either the (don't fall over Chroma) proposed boost to LV  :80: , or dropping infiltrator. Now dropping infiltrator is being considered. Only because we (The group I game with) are finding it is making the general swarms too fast in the attack (40cm!) and it isn't allowing opponents enough time to wear down the swarms hurtling at them.

That said I still want to playtest the present list for some time to seek out these possible problems, and see if they are 'one offs' or real concerns.

- the new lesser node is far more balanced.

Considering how well grounded it is, well, in the ground I would hope it had good balance  (Just kidding).

I agree, and so do others.

the 100-pts node should be have the same capacity the dominatrix have, +1D6 in spawning. Indeed, between 2 lesser nodes and 1 node, you never choose the node because he haven't teleport and spawn less broods.

But he does stand a chance of lasting longer. However it has become painfully obvious in the last two weeks of games that it is making few appearences in games. If the trend continues it will need to be adressed.

On Nodes in General............................
A concern voiced earlier about possible abuses and garrisons has now turned into reality. One player here tried it out for me the other day and I got a chance to chew the fat with both players involved this afternoon (On the phone). Basically he garrisoned three Lesser Nodes, near Mid-table, each in control of big swarms, assaulted the poor IG players attempts to advance, and marched in Winged HTs to take over the swarms. They said it was real nasty.

I am thinking of banning both Node choices from being able to Garrison, or just banning the Lesser Node from being able to garrison.

Thanks All

Jaldon :p

What about saying LSN have to teleport in?  This way they can't garrison
