I wouldn't say no.

Some of the larger Uncommons like Hierodules would still remain in Singles by default however.

Yep, that's true.

And we could do things like "Bio-Artillery Brood - Three Dactylis" to make it more difficult/costly to get the "perfect four" for barrages and such.

I like this concept to buy entire broods. Reminds my a bit of the Tryanid specific armycards for Epic40k.

I would suggests following shema:
eg:
Termagant Brood - 4 Terganant units
Large Termagant Brood - 6 Termagant units
Big Termagant Brood - 8 Termagant units

Biotanks could be 1, 2 and 3 units respectively and BioWarengines only 1 unit.

Spawning would be individual units not entire broods.

I would suggests following shema:

I'm not sure that discounts are warranted for common broods.

Aside from which, the list is already complex enough... if it's balanced, just have one brood size and cost.

Good idea! Making broods in certain number, helps a lot with cost issues and this is a good way to limit nid arty being too ?perfect?.

So no small, big and 'uge? Just one brood size? With a maximum to buy depending on Synapse type or no?

Would people want to see Uncommon Broods organized in "groups" as well?

Yes, I'd like that too.

These groups also make for an easier and faster army selection and composition (no more "how much is seven times 35?"... yeah I suck at maths  :p ), and that's always a bonus. Well, for me anyway.  :)

Nothing like "normal, big, 'uge", just that you'd buy them in "blocks."

So you could have an Assault Swarm with 2 Termagant blocks, 1 Hormagant block, and 1 Gargoyle block; you'd have 3 Warriors, 8 Termagants, 4 Horms, and 4 Gargoyles.

I chose 4 bases because that's what will be included in any future plastic boxed set release.

Not that it's ever probably going to be released, but it might just be *three* of the old Tyranid sprues, so that a "complete" 3-unit Tyranid Warrior group can be made.

The Bug sprues are a lot smaller than the Black Legion/Eldar sprues of the Epic:40k era.

I might do the unit groups in multiples of threes for the time being.

Do them in 4's.

Every other plastic boxed set for Epic is currently either 4 half sprues or 2 full sprues.

That means for the Tyranids, it'll be 4 half sprues.

If they do re-release the old sprues then there will be 4 Termagent, 1 Hormagent & 1 Gargoyle per sprue so the numbers should be based off these. Which we are not guaranteed to see.

However those of us that have spent a fortune building up our armies over the past couple of years will still be in trouble as there just aren't the numbers of Hormagnets out there, (he said repeating himself)

Well, I like the "small, big, 'uge" thing too, but it would probably work just as well with one size of brood.

As for a maximum per synaspse, here's another wild idea to organize the army list:

Each synapse group allows the player to take (for example) X common broods, X/2 uncommon broods and X/4 independant.

X still to be determined, but perhaps something like that: each synapse group allows the player to take 4 common broods, 2 uncommon broods and 1 independant.

Or it could be 6 common broods, 2 uncommons, 1 independant, or whatever people feel the proportion should be.

Again, this would probably make army selection faster and easier.

Huh?

Each Tyranid sprue contains:

3 Warriors (Two with Deathspitters, one with bone swords)
1 Lictor
5 Hormagaunts
10 Termagants
5 Gargoyles
5 Genestealers

That means, in each box you will get:

4 Bases of Warriors
4 Lictors
4 Bases of Hormagaunts
8 Bases of Termagants
4 Bases of Gargoyles
4 Bases of Genestealers

And as I said before, we shouldn't care what armies players have right now. We should care what can be made with a plastic boxed set.

I spent silly ammounts of money to buy my Tyranids, but I wouldn't force any consequent restrictions upon future players because of that.

Looks exploitable to me, just take minimum common broods then load up on Independant creatures. :)
