Quote (Hena @ 29 April 2006 (00:09)) | Quote (nealhunt @ 28 April 2006 (21:22)) | Not being well-versed in the 40K stats, would a Broodlord really have a MW attack? ?It normally takes multiple power weapons/power fists to get that kind of attack. ?Is a Broodlord comparable to that? |
Brood lord has (in 40k) raw strenght (or something like that), which ?allows it ignore saves in cc. | hena,
doesn't he get a bonus to busting tank armor as well - rending or something along those lines?
If so, i'd say MW is justified - unless the bug list has handled such precidents in another way thus far.
Cheers,

Quote (ragnarok @ 28 April 2006 (19:14)) | I don't have my nid codex on me (left it at work ? ), but I'm sure that genestealers can only infiltrate with a brood lord now, and he comes with a brood as standard. ?I believe it is to repsrent him and his boyz being one of the scout broods sent down before the main fleet arrives and they have gotten to know the terrain.
With his MW attack(s) in close combat. ?He has 3 or 4 power weapon rending attacks, but isn't a monsterous creature. (He is armed with scything talons and rending claws and his biomorph upgrades (can't remember how many he is allowed) include feeder tenticals, acid maw, tox sacs, implant attacks and flesh hooks) | Heh, regarding 40K infiltrate - sounds like I was recalling it completely backwards then - go figure! Solves that - scratch the question!
on the MW attack front, if he ignores all armor saves in combat, and he has rending for the occasional hit to bust tank armor... well, if the unit needs it or is ideal to have it, then it seems like a good argument for MW or maybe a +1 MW attack if the base attacks will not be MW. Of course, thats baring any other pecident the big J has already started moving towards with similiar situations.
For this "opponent" of the bugs, i wouldn't mind playing against broodlord(s) that had MW attacks if that's the path you go down. Seems like there's an argument there.
I am still interested in knowing if this will be an improvement option for each unit or a single character stand mod for one stand.
Cheers,

I think it hould be a 0-1 option per genestealer swarm.
Having a swarm of 6 brood lords running around is just wrong.

Jaldon | Looking. I figure the Scout model is a bit bigger than normal and the armor has sort of a jointed carapace look so it should make a good base for conversion.
