WoW!!!

Thanks for all the inspiration guys. I'll be yoinking a few idea once I expand the force past 3k.

So, yeah, the haul turned up on time and yielded the following goodies;

1x Dominatrix
1x Mk1 Tyrant
1x Trygon
3x Dactylis
10x Complete infantry sprues

And the guy also thew in a mole & leviathan for my Squat army.

I'm also waiting on the arrival of 2 Fex broods & an extra dactylis. So i'll get these going & add to my painting logs soon.

I am currently bashing/cutting/clipping/trimming/carving/brownstuffing a bunch of Raveners. I am not sure about the results yet, but I am taking pictures of the progress to post later in my paint-log. I use Tyranid Warriors and new Rippers as a base and I quite like it so far.

The old 40K rippers are about the same size as the new, just not as top-heavy and more worm-like. I got hold of a bunch recently and I will use them as Burrowing Raveners (2 to a base). They look very much like the Epic Trygon, so I think they will look nice together. I just have to paint-strip them first.

Ok so here's my Vituperator so far;





I went for gaunt spinefists to represent it's spore launchers. To represent the claws I used a raveners head, due it's mandibles, and decided to give it an enormous sting in it's tail. To make that I used a spare rat ogre tail & daemonette talon.

I've also used greenstuff to create transport sacs for brood creatures hitching a ride. When my camera is working again & I'm not relying on my phone I'll take some better shots. Then you'll see a series of sphincters connected to the sacs for brood creature "secretion".

Scale pic as requested, termagants and a marine squad plus phantom, great gargant and dominatrix for big stuff.

The Trygon seems to fit pretty well. Maybe a little big considering the details of the 40k parts, but looks very nice.

As for the bigger stuff they look huge, but thats awesome! I am not sure if the scale is right, as I dont know 40k that much, but since it looks nice I dont care!  

It's all guesswork on size and the epic tyranid scale is awful anyway. If you assume DC is roughly aligned with a models volume then everything except the Trygon (too big) and winged critters (You can't get them to look right when they're bulkier) are close. The Hierophant is roughly Reaver bulk which matches on DC but the Hierophant looks a lot bigger and more menacing because it's arched up and there's a lot of space under the model.

Well, I guess its only important that it looks good in comparison and not to absolutely accurate.
