Actually Carnifex starts at +1 T over a Hive Tyrant.

Fully upgraded, a Carnifex will have +1 T and one more wound over Tyrant but will lack an invulnerable Warp Field save.

Unless there's been a correction I'm not aware of, my (4th Edition) Tyranid Codex lists T4, W6, SV 3+ for the base stats of both Hive Tyrant and Carnifex.

And, yes, different Genus of Carnifex could be "tougher", getting Thick Rear Armour or other variables/weapons.

IMO a fex should have better armour than a Tyrant (even though in 40k are about the same) to better represent its role in the brood.

Could you expand on what you mean by this SHermo?

What I was trying to say its that a fex has evolved to endure a great amount of pain and is considered the tanker of the brood so if a tyrant is as tough as a fex (in epic is weaker), it will lose personality.

I've always felt that in 40k, a Fex should be much tougher than a tyrant. In fact it's what it does best (that and wrecking tanks  :) )

Well, I could be wrong.

I would check the army summary sheet on the GW website. If, you know, it was possible to find one.

Enough with the stat crunching. :)

Fact is, they're close enough that they *could* have the same armour save.

Are 'fexes working properly in Epic?

IMO, not really; They could well do with going to RA 4+.

IIRC I wanted the Carnifex and Hive Tyrant to go up to 20cm speed, which in some regards is a *downgrade* as it stops them garrisoning (Which I regard as a bit odd). Conversely, late in the game it makes it a little bit easier for them to reach CC.

Chroma's seen my old proposed stats list.
