I agree with Hena, apply labels of "Bio-titan" to the Vitu., Dom. and Harridan.  Then only allow 1/3 of the army to be Bio-titans. That was where Jaldon seemed to be going.

Chris, on your Heriophant list, they lost 1/2 of their shooting in 9.1 due to the Bio-cannon re-stat.

Actually, they didn't lose any shooting... the Hierophant has *two* "Twin Bio-Cannons" by way of Jaldon's stat change... not a "single" Twin Bio-Cannon.

Still, it only has four ranged attacks... is that really seen as over-powered?

Sorry was getting the Heirodule and the Heirophant (the old Heirodule) mixed up.

Looking at the phant's stats now, I'd also add that it's twin bio-cannon should be renamed something else if we're going by what was on the old model.

Do people really consider the Harridan to be a "Bio-Titan" class creature?

Additionally, unlike any other "Titan" class units in any other army, all of the Tyranid war engines can be, potentially, killed by a single hit.

I'd classify as titan class any war engine that is fearless with some form of shield or invulnerable save, so yes, I'd classify them as bio-titans.

Frankly I have no idea if this list is broken or not, but it is debatable enough to merit testing, surely?

I would not classify Harridan as biotitan at first go. Mainly as it didn't use to be in SM2 either.

But it is these days. The FW reimagining of the Haridan is a lot bigger than before, and definately a bio-titan.

If you don't include the Harridan, then the 1/3 restriction on "Bio-Titans" does nothing to prevent this list:

1000 5 Harridan (20DC)
400 1 Hydraphant (8DC)
550 2 Heirophants (12DC)
450 6 Termagant Clusters
600 3 Trygon Clusters (2 each) (12DC)
3000/8

Is the above army unstoppable?  "Unfluffy"?  There's still 24 stands of Common Brood creatures on the table in this army.

Unstoppable? Possibly, that'd need playtesting.

Unfluffy? Certainly.

The majority of the army should be hordes of infantry. That's just how nids are.

You don't consider 24 stands of 'Gaunts a "horde"?  The army still has more Inf models that War Engine models in it.

How about a limit of 1/3 for Bio-Titans and WEs?

At that point I'd say just limit WEs to 1/3 of the list. Considering that's what other lists do, I'd say start with that. If it proves too limiting refine it.

I think it was more a case of is it a titan class set of stats than a classification question like what species it is.

The stats put it on scout titan/deathwheel level I think. Certainly its fun rushing the whole army into the opponents deployment zone or having a CC engage of 35-40cm and FF engage of 50.
