Chroma - have you through about giving us a deadline?

Give us say until the end of June to provide feedback on the current 4 lists - after which you will carry out a full review and spew out an all new list.

It just feels kind of open ended and a bit directionless at the moment and the lack of number of recent posts is (to me anyway) a clear indication that the deathmatch idea has actually put people off using nids rather than enthusing them.

If possible I would like this kind of deadline to be the end of May to allow people a few weeks to practice before the London Tournament on the 28/29 June. But I would quite understand if that is considered too quick.

Are there any "strong contenders" in the proposed lists? Because limiting the choice to 2 or even 3 would greatly assist as Zombocom suggests

I think you guys are getting too hung up on the variant lists.

Like Chroma said, if you want to use the 'nids in a tournement use the 8.4 list in the vault and ignore the rest.  There's plenty of people out there that don't visit this forum, so that's the only list they'll see and the one people should use for the tournement scene.

As to advancing the list, June would mark 8 months of play testing.  If Chroma's usual development process is anything to go by, I'm sure he's more than eager to advance the list  :;):. Especially if he's bringing his 'nids to the NE tourney.  Unless of course the Deathmatch challenge still stands.

Yeah, normally I'd've released about an update a month... *laugh*

Let's put the "deadline" as the end of May; though, I do believe each of the various suggestions has merits and will probably gene-splice a bunch of stuff from each into a monstrous whole in the end.

I just want to know what works, what needs work, and what *doesn't* work.

I would like the Tyranids to be "different" but not difficult, either to play or play against; I realize that's a rather nebulous design goal, but that's what drives me in this.

If I might hop in, I would suggest scrapping the other three lists and focus work on the 8.4 list.

I've been looking through it in preparation for building my own force and I find it a very usable force and seems quite balanced from my initial look at it.

I think that perhaps the issue with the lack of movement on the list (aside from the lack of minis :-) is that there are so many lists and options.
