Edit: Chroma. Could you mod the title to be 'Batrep: Tyranids vs Death Guard, 3k' :D

Done!

Looking forward to the rest of the report... and close-ups of those Plague Towers!

Rules used

All experimental rules

Which experimental rules - the ones in the handbook Alpha 1.4 handbook (core rules)? Also what version Deathguard?

Just to be explicit and clear about it.

Teemu's new army looks fantastic by the way  :)

We just played using the rules that we usually use. So basically same as in last tournament (sorry that it's in finnish).

And who can guess where the Plague Tower comes from :)?

Ah ok - perhaps specify 'Finnish tournament rules or whatever you use next time then? Just so we all have an idea what is being used out there. So far it seems we've got Finnish, French, Official Experimental, Offical with skimmer change and no other experimental (UK tourni rules), various US versions, and then the Handbook, and no doubt others.

IIRC you said you didn't have any problems with Neals core exp rules changes (which are now those in 1.4 handbook)? Is it just that it will take a while for your group to switch over or are others in your group resistant to those core rule changes? If so it would be good to hear feedback from them.

As for the plague tower that was about to be my next question - they look terrific!  :D

Nice to see the Death Guard in action! Cool!

Well, I'm inclined to actually start thinking about removing Fearless. I am waiting to read and get used to the new 40K codex, as it makes a fairly significant change to 40K armies. Chosen, bikers, etc are no longer Fearless in 40K, even if you do give them a mark.

We'll see. I think Fearless will definately stay for the Emperor's Children. I really, really don't like how the Mark of Slaanesh has gone from being some form of immunity to psychology to just +1 Initiative in 40K. That's rubbish. However, I'd be amenable to removing Fearless from the Death Guard and the World Eaters, except perhaps a core cadre of absolute nutters.

Well, I think fearless is very characteric for DG, they are suppoused to to take all the punisment you can give them and still come to ask for more (resilence!). Or at least somesort of ATSKNF for lost assaults. Or do you have some fluffy reason why 4 loyalist devastator stands after losing with 1 point of resolution wont lose any men when 4 Death Guard veterans after 10 000 years of battle would lose 1 stand in exatly same situation (or 4 resolution would wipe 4 DG or only 2 marines)? Small formation combined with death by resolution is BIG drawback (and without any bonuses for assault like their loyalist buddies (ATSKNF) or big formations like Black Legion).

I think fearles fits perfectly for Cult-Marines. Exspecially for DG. (I have Slaanesh army too)

But when you do make changes to DG list PLEASE make contagion towers 4 for 325 (same as in Lost and Damned) and lesser deamons 20 points/per one. No one (well, at least me) will field 7 contagion towers for 650 points.

And Hena, I hate spawning. ;)

____

Game was great, it is uncommon for me to win Hena and even more uncommon to win his tyranids (second victory, and first one was stupid one with 2 landas which landed on objectives (ah, old times: when aircraft could claim objectives)).

My starship should have kill the hiero and major node, but no (2 DC on Hiero and 4 on Node). On my first turn Towers shot like grots, but in third turn one great shooting (and great saves from Hena) turned the whole game.

This was fourth game with DG. And second victory.

I think DG:s list is very good, not too powerfull (I have lost to orks and BL with it).
