I'd prefer to keep the Brood Mother name, it's way more 'niddy. Let's not have the +d3 in there, as that ties us to a particular form of spawning that the poll has shown is very unpopular.

Not too bothered on the Synapse Symbiote stats as long as it gives Synapse. My FF MW EA was mostly to represent the increased bio-electricity of the trygon prime.

Shrikes need a lower armour save; the ranged shot is pretty irrelevant. Ditto Winged Tyrants, just lowering the gun doesn't even close to balance it.

Malanthrope shouldn't have an EA FF, I dropped that as it seemed excessive.

-----------

I'd like to bring up the idea of a Supreme Commander upgrade for Hive Tyrants.

I would be inclined to try to merge the Tyranid Prime into the Synapse Symbiote (and maybe the Broodlord as well).

It has to have Synapse. A standard extra attack along the lines of (Base Contact) +1A seems reasonable. Then pick from Leader, Inspiring, Commander and Invulnerable Save. Unless of course separate character upgrades are useful to give different abilities.

I think Shrikes and Winged Tyrants as they are will require a higher points cost.

Another point is Tervigon weapon names. The two 40k weapon options are Cluster Spines and Stinger Salvo, both are names for old Bio-Titan Weapons.

Hive Tyrant:
A Venom Cannon and Heavy Venom Cannon should have AT6+ as it is pretty crap at taking out armored vehicles. But it is really good at taking out infantry with it's S9 Blast so AP3+ fits better than AP4+

Winges Hive Tyrant:
Don't think the ranged shot is warranted.

Tervigon:
Good except Augmented Spawning. Iwould name it Brood Mother.

Malanthrope:
No Jumppacks please. 20cm Infiltrators fits better. It hsould have Fitst Strike instead of Macro-weapon on it's CC-attack. The Sc is to good. Either drop the Invulnerable Save or drop the Sv to RA5+.

Tyranid Warriors:
Ok.

Shrikes:
Could need Armour 6+

Tyranid Prime:
Allit does is boosting the CC stats of the Tyranid Warrior squad he is attached to. So you'r stats are waaay off. Drop all the special abilities. Commander could stay as well as the extra attack.

Synapse Symbiote:
Should give Synapse and Fearless (if Synapse doesn't already include Fearless) plus a +1MWEA for either FF or CC depending on upgraded unit type.

Tyranid Prime sounds more like a veteran sergeant than a Captain or Chaplain. Is it really needed.

Surely a S9 weapon deserves AT5+, ala the lascannon?

Jump packs is staying; I don't care if they don't have rules for floating in 40k, the model is hovering above the ground. Please give your reasoning for infiltrators. The save is fine, in most rules they've had identical armour/toughness/wounds to the hive tyrant + a decent invulnerable save. I don't think first strike fits.

Sure IF it where a Lascannin. But the (Heavy) Venom Cannongets a -1 on the vehicle damage table which makes it worse attaking out vehicles.

@Malanthrope:
It's a super-Venomthope.
20cm Infiltrators because the Malanthrope IS really fast. It has Fleet and Move Through Cover on top of being a Monstrous Creature.
In current rules the Malanthrope is -1 T and W incomparison to the Hive Tyrant.
And didn't we agree to give the Venomthrope First Strike for it's poison attacks as well as the spore clouds which attack anyone in reach?

To quotemyselve:
Quote:
In IAA2nd it is similar to a Hive Tyrant but -1 S, T and A.
It's a Monstrous Creature, a Synapse with Fleet, Move Through Cover, Regeneration, Toxic Miasma (everyone in contact has to pass Toughness or takes a wound), Toxin Sacs (all attack are posionous 4+) and Prey Adaptation (no idea what that does).

So my guess:
AV Speed 20cm 3+Sv CC3+ FF6+
Synapse, Infiltrator, First Strike

Basically a big Venomthrope.

First Strike for Venomthropes & Malanthropes looks good for me. Could even make a good combined formation.

I went with 25cm speed instead of 20cm infiltrators, because there's no "beasts" or similar in the 40k rules, but I've preserved its status as the fastest Synapse with a 5cm speed bump.

First Strike on its standard CC attack is viable.

I see the Malanthrope as basically a more engagementy and less shooty Hive Tyrant.
