After my 5000 point game against Biel-Tan, I've really come to the realization that Tyranids failing to rally *really* sucks.  *laugh*

I think the +1 to Engage actions that Relentless gives is fine, but would a +2 for Rally in the End Phase be too much?  The +2 will eliminate the need for some rolls in the End Phase and, to me at least, it "feels" better that Tyranids are able to get back into the fight quickly.  So, Hena, I think you might be right on this one!

Thoughts?

All in all, I've found the +1 to be good enough.

I did argue for Tyranids to ignore the -2 for being broken when rallying though. So they would still get a -1 for being with 30cm of the enemy but for the most part rally on a 2+.

I think a straight +2 would be too strong, and this would be a better compromise. It also fits thematically with the bugs. They shouldn't be effected by moral or frightened due to unit losses, which is what I think the -2 for being broken represents. However, I do think that the hive mind will have a tough time controlling them when there's enemy near by (hunting instincts and all) so I think the -1 for being within 30cm should apply.

Let's see, with 2+ Initiative...

An unbroken swarm would always rally.
A broken swarm far from the enamy would rally on 2+.
A broken swarm within 30cm of the enemy would rally on 3+.

That doesn't seem unreasonable for Nids.  I'd like to see more playtests, though.

Sounds good to me too.
