IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Hi to all,
in view of the missing entries, I have (with some help from CS, but  I'm the liable one here) come up with a solution.
1) the missing entries (which have been located) will be compiled in one category (the LOST category) irrespective of their original category. A brief round of voting will select the winner.
2) The winner will move on to the final of the appropriate category - thus if the winner is a battleforce, it will end up in the battleforce category, for example.
3) This means that the second round will be delayed slightly until this round is decided - not more than 1 week.

Now I know that this is far from being a perfect solution - the entries in this round are far ranging, they are advantaged in that they might have more chance in getting to the final, etc. There's no excuse for this, and the blame lies squarely with me. I have in fact decided that it is not fair for me to organise Epicomp seeing I really need to dedicate more time to it to avoid these situations, time which regrettably I never seem to find, and I will hand over this role to someone better at this than me next year.

The new gallery is being prepared, and as soon as it is done I will set up the votes.
Cheers, and all the best for 2010 to everyone.

I think you are being a bit hard on yourself there van, this is the first year with anonymous entries and there were bound to be kinks in the system. You do an excellent job organizing the competition.

Sounds like a good solution and you are definitely being too hard on yourself Vanvlak.

Like Vaaish said, the new Epicomp format was bound to have a couple of issues.  I think the majority of us are just happy to have a venue for this unique event and greatly appreciate the work you & CS have done. :)

Absolutely! Whoever does this, takes it on as a voluntary commitment. Very few people combine the experience and enthusiasm that you bring, vanvlak, and I think that you have done an excellent job. The task is almost 100% problem solving, and every year there will be challenges and issues and times when it doesnt run smoothly. The important thing is not what doesnt go to plan, but how you cope and deal with it, and I think that you have done an excellent job. Besides, if you leave next year, it may fall to me to actually do some work, and then everyone will really appreciate what you have done! I have every confidence in you and would welcome you back to it next year.

Agreed, a good solution. Stop being so hard on yourself, Van.

Thanks guys. I'll mull over it; but I really have to give this more time and check stuff more thoroughly.
Meanwhile, round one is over for now - that is, until we start the voting for the 'LOST' category.
Congrats to all, it was a splendid show of work.  :sign1:

I knew right away that Angelus Galatia was Onyx´s, purely from his painting style...
