A wide range of stuff.
Some are simple formatting errors and clipping in the PDF itself
Some are fluff suggestions (such as tweaking the term used in the Mechanicum report for destroyed Titans yo be something more ritualistic and faux religious monastic such as "rites of reclamation performed")

Also even having a list of all outstanding images needed would be great to collate. The text in the placeholder was awesomeness for that.

Yeah, that happened when I updated the font, need to fix that as it used to be formatted properly, d'oh.

Well, isn't this a dilemma?

I agree with E&C that printing the supplement is a private affair. While there were ERC members who helped, it was an effort that was driven by the authors, not by any leadership.

As the guy who does the printing, my only concern is getting stuck with a bunch of supplements that won't sell (since it is my checkbook that takes the hit). Any decision I make will be based on supply and demand, pure and simple.

As the NetEA Supplement Chairperson, however, I would really like to see some type of compromise, or at least a modicum of tolerance. Why can't ALL the lists be included in the supplement? E&C's lists, Vaaish's lists, side by side? Really, the purpose of the supplements is to give the Epic community something fun and tangible to hold in their hands. It shows off the mini's and gives the author a chance to flex his writing skills and helps new players see we have a living game. The supplement is not there to say, "My list is better." Those are arguments saved for the forum.

If both E&C and Vaaish can agree to have both their lists appear in the supplement, I think it would be a testament to the maturity of both men. That little compromise costs absolutely nothing in terms of dollars/pounds. It will cost a measurable helping of pride, however...

What say, you two?

Happy to have his Armoured list in reference sheet form at worst, and have it as the "feature" Armour list if it ends up better than mine (to the extent I might even kill mine if it ends up balanced enough).

I'm just not going to say "yes" now, because the last time I did that something bad happened that killed the supplement for 2 years.

Well, that's a start. It gives the two of you something to discuss (publicly or privately) and IMO everybody benefits. It allows the supplement to move toward completion and it fosters some healthy competition in terms of getting the lists developed faster. In the end -if no compromise can be reached on the lists- just dump them all in. Epic stew!

I should point out historically also that Raiders came out first, THEN the lists went through the approval process. Is it backwards? Sure. But that is what happened.

Same for Siege. We just decided when "good enough" had been reached, and they became Approved with no further testing, much later.

I don't want to go off thread, but I will probably reprint the older supplements when the next supplement (whichever that may be) is ready for printing. It cuts down on my shipping costs and people are more likely to buy them together.

I don't mind if the lists appear together in the document, but it would be nice if we could get the NetEA ones fully tested for the AMTL and Cataphractii lists. I'm fairly confident of the state of the Skitarii list that we could get it tested easily, but EC has made it pretty clear he's uninterested in using it.

I do partly feel that with the extra lists, we'd be splitting our resources that I'd be surprised to get any of them properly tested. IMO both the experimental Cataphractii and the armored division in the supplement rough are about the same state.

The two are similar enough that it would be nice if we either merged them or worked out one to go with. The older version of your armored list you posted in the Cataphractii brainstorming thread was partly the starting point of the cataphractii.

Quote:
If enough reports come in to say that it works fine without any allies, then that could well be a thing that we could definitely do. Or consider, at least. I've not looked at what community feedback or playtests you've had.

Neither list was designed to force the use of allies. They stand on their own; allies are just flavor to eventually allow more flexibility in list construction. You could probably swap out the AMTL titan list allies for your Legio Destructor allies and it wouldn't affect the list in any major way. Eventually the plan is that skitarii will have access to core and heavy options in the cataphractii list so that folks who had mechanicus super-heavies or armor can use them with skitarii lists or cataphractii lists can pull in skitarii infantry.

Libertarian values abound! :)

Vaaish / E&C, thanks for taking those steps toward each other.

Vaaish, fully tested lists would be nice. So would rainbows made out of Skittles (mmmm, Skittles...). However, getting you two to tolerate each others lists will be sufficient. With that roadblock removed, the army lists will make it to paper in no time. And funny enough, the publishing of this supplement may be exactly what both of you need as it will bring more visibility to everything between its covers. More visibility = more playtesting.

I'm not interested in working under the NetEA aegis anymore (which would be required for a merge), and as I said above I'm not going to say "yes" to giving you certain control of a "feature" list in the supplement right now because we know what happened last time I did that - something bad happened.

So a merger or cull isn't going to be happening at this time. Maybe some time down the line once one or other Armoured list has a track record.

I really like the option of printing both sets of lists for many reasons.

A minor suggestion here - perhaps the differences could be explained in that they represent forces deployed in different worlds?
